Cricut Contributing Artist series: Laura Corazzin

Today, we’re delving into the world of artistry and creativity with Laura Corazzin, an esteemed artist from Italy. As both a Cricut Contributing Artist Program member and a Cricut ambassador, Laura brings a unique perspective to the crafting community. Let’s hear about her artistic journey, inspirations, and favorite projects. 

How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program? 

I found Cricut thanks to the vibrant Cricut Italian community, of which I am an ambassador. The allure of the Contributing Artist Program (CAP) was undeniable. I’ve always had a deep passion for creativity and illustrations. I can further enhance my creativity and showcase my illustrations in various Cricut projects through CAP. 

Where did your artistic journey begin? 

My artistic journey traces back to my childhood. I’ve always been drawn to creating with various materials, reveling in painting and drawing. However, I temporarily set aside my art to focus on languages during my school years. After some time in the workforce, I realized my heart belonged to graphic design. Now, as a freelancer, I operate a studio called Le Papier Design. 

What does creativity mean to you? 

To me, creativity signifies freedom and relaxation. It’s a boundless realm where I can express myself without constraints. 

Who or what inspires you to create, and why? 

Nature serves as my primary muse. I find immense inspiration in the organic beauty of leaves, branches, and flowers. These elements often find their way into my illustrations and graphics. 

What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of? 

I have a deep affection for paper art. One project that holds a special place in my heart is a lion mask. You can view this creation in Design Space here. 

Describe your artistic style in one word and explain. 

My style can be summarized as: 

• Ordinary: I’m drawn to simple graphics and illustrations. 
• Botanical: Nature is my muse, evident in all my designs. 
• Emotional: I infuse empathy into my creations, aiming to evoke feelings in those who view them. 

What is your favorite family tradition? 

Christmas holds a special place in my heart. I adore the festive atmosphere— the twinkling lights, the anticipation, and the charm of Christmas markets. 

Do you collect anything? 

I’m a self-proclaimed stationery addict. My collection includes an abundance of paper, washi tape, stickers, and notebooks. They’re all treasures I’ve acquired, though I find it hard to use them, fearing I’ll ruin their pristine charm.
