How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program? 

My journey with Cricut began unexpectedly, spurred by a quest for cardboard wheels for my science lessons. Encouraged by a local Cricut expert, I took a leap of faith and applied to the Contributing Artist Program despite my initial hesitation. Little did I know it would become a cornerstone of my creative expression, offering boundless opportunities to share my passion with the world. 

Where did your artistic journey begin? 

My artistic odyssey commenced amidst my scientific pursuits, driven by a desire to inspire the next generation of problem solvers and innovators. What started as a quest to enhance my children’s education became a fervent exploration of design and creativity. Drawing anatomy models late into the night became my therapeutic escape, igniting a passion that continues to fuel my artistic endeavors. 

What does creativity mean to you? 

Creativity transcends mere expression—it’s a harmonious dance between the conscious and subconscious realms of the mind. The synergy between disparate cognitive processes births something entirely new, like a design emerging from the depths of imagination. It’s the gateway to innovation and driving my relentless pursuit of artistic excellence. 

Who or what inspires you to create, and why? 

My inspiration springs from the boundless potential of the human mind and the joy of making learning an engaging, inclusive experience. Designing educational materials for neurodiverse students opened my eyes to the transformative power of creativity in education. Whether crafting intricate anatomy models or whimsical designs for my children, each creation is a testament to the limitless possibilities of imagination. 

What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of? 

Educational support materials, particularly anatomy models and solar system dioramas, hold a special place in my heart. These projects facilitate learning and foster a sense of wonder and curiosity in young minds—a truly rewarding experience. 

What is your spirit animal, and why? 

Pigs! These delightful creatures embody resilience, playfulness, and a penchant for finding treasures in unexpected places. Their carefree spirit and love for life resonate deeply with my affinity for exploration and joyful discovery. 

Describe your artistic style in one word. 

Geek-chic or Science-chic—I revel in crafting realistic, math, and science-based designs infused with whimsy. Each creation celebrates intellect and creativity, bridging the gap between art and science in a visually captivating manner. 

What makes you laugh the most? 

My three witty, unpredictable children—each day, they grace my life with moments of pure hilarity and joy, reminding me to embrace the whimsical side of life with a hearty belly laugh. I love to craft with them; they bring much fun and inspiration when we create projects.  

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have? 

Psychokinesis—imagine the endless possibilities of bending reality to one’s will! With such power, I’d embark on whimsical adventures, shaping the world with boundless creativity and imagination.
