How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program?

My introduction to Cricut came through the thoughtful suggestion of a fellow designer who recognized the potential synergy between their platform and my creative work. The Contributing Artist Program piqued my interest, offering a compelling artistic growth and collaboration opportunity.

Where did your artistic journey begin?

Armed with a degree in graphic design, I embarked on a professional journey that spanned five years within the industry. Eventually, I took a bold leap into self-employment, a decision that has since been proven to be the cornerstone of my creative evolution. For the past 18 years, I’ve proudly flourished as a full-time freelance designer.

What does creativity mean to you?

To me, creativity embodies the power to manifest my unique vision into tangible concepts. I relish the art of infusing a distinctive twist into popular themes, breathing fresh life into familiar narratives.

Who or what inspires you to create, and why?

Inspiration knows no bounds; I am always on the lookout. It never comes just from one place; it could be anywhere from a design on a hand towel at the store to a color pallet online to start my inspiration. I like to gather all my ideas in one folder to reference before I start any project.

What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of?

My heart lies in crafting pieces that elevate the ambiance of living spaces. My favorite craft projects are home decor items, signs, hand towels, coasters, etc. It’s essential to have a home environment that inspires and reflects who you are. But I also love stickers, as they can be used on planners, water bottles, and more!

Describe your artistic style in one word and give an explanation

In a single word, my artistic style is ‘simple.’ It thrives on clean, uncluttered lines that evoke a sense of timeless elegance. I’m drawn to the enduring allure of classic designs, infusing them with subtle layers of inspiration. Yet, I’m not immune to the allure of humor, and I relish the occasional foray into whimsical, light-hearted creations.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

To push through the hard times when working from home may not have been possible to get to where I am today.

What makes you laugh the most?

Laughter finds its purest form in the company of my cherished family. My husband and boys, aged 16 and 18, are the wellspring of endless joy and delight. The camaraderie we share, the goofy moments that define our days, are the treasured memories I hold dear.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

In my superhero fantasy, I’d possess the extraordinary ability to tidy up my abode with a snap of my fingers. Imagine the sheer delight of a perpetually spotless house effortlessly maintained by an otherworldly power.
