Meet illustrator, artist, and maker Cat Madeira
Did you know we have UK artists regularly uploading new images to Cricut Design Space? These talented illustrators have met an incredible milestone of 10,000 images now available in Design Space.
From British culture to sayings, to national days, these artists have helped us grow our library so that you might find more local images available to you.
In this blog, we are giving a spotlight to one of our first UK artists that began creating images for Design Space – Cat Madeira.
Cat has a library of close to 2,000 images and is also super passionate about Cricut. She also has over 140 published projects available on her Design Space profile too.
More about Cat
Cat currently lives in Nottingham, UK and is originally from Portugal.
Cat loves colour and finds this inspires her illustrations. Cat identifies her style as cute, punny and quirky which we totally agree with. Check out some of her images below that you can’t help but smile at.

Living life in colour
Cat says that her love of colour comes from growing up surrounded with folk art and beautiful fabrics: “My grandma was a seamstress, so I am naturally attracted to anything bright and colourful. Colour is life. I was very lucky to grow up with a creative family that supported my love for the arts.”
This influence is clear when you scroll through all her colourful images. Cat managed to pick some of her favourite images so far (though she found this very difficult to do!) all of which are super colourful and beautiful in every way.
Cat’s favourite images from her collection: Bee Shadowbox #M47016BA5, Northern Lights Shadowbox #M430541F5, Space Frame #M451A3CD8, Groovy mushroom #M4808B386 (which is also an editable image).
Crafting with Cricut
With a creative mind like Cat’s, it is no surprise that Cat has the Cricut bug. She loves to make with her Cricut Maker™ and has created all kinds of things from cake toppers, to shaker cards with her designs.
Cat says, “I love to customise items in my house and clothes for my family. I might have influenced a few family members to make things with their Cricut too so it’s always lovely to be able to talk about what projects we are working on or ideas that we have.”
We love that Cat has a flair for making for occasions. She has lots of birthday decor and gift ideas saved as projects on her profile but also covers all the occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, end-of-year teacher gifts, Easter, and even created projects for the King’s Coronation and Eurovision.
We asked Cat to pick her favourite projects that she has made. After some difficulty, Cat managed to refine it to three projects.
