Jubilee projects from Hobbycraft

25 May 2022

Hobbycraft Artisans and colleagues have been busy preparing projects for the upcoming Platinum Jubilee weekend. Here’s a selection to inspire you to get creative and celebrate 70 years of HRH Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

Signed, sealed, delivered.

Becky Wallace, from the Brighton store, focused on the iconic design of stamps to create her bunting. We love how the silver really makes the project feel special and adds a sense of occasion! Becky used silver, blue and red card, as well as silver adhesive foil on her Jubilee bunting.

Dressing for the occasion

Sharon from Hobbycraft Crewe thought about the littlest attendees at the Jubilee party when making this adorable gold-trimmed dress.

Instant update

We love Emma Brown’s home decor design. With Cricut and a shadow box frame, you can change your mind as often as you like replacing the insert with a seasonal design. You could whip this up the morning of the Jubilee with some coloured card and paper. Emma, who works at the Hereford Hobbycraft store, also used foam pads when assembling her piece to really make the design stand out.

Cricut workshop host Chrissie has created several projects for the Jubilee celebrations. She’s such a talent! If you haven’t yet booked on to one of her Cricut workshops, you can do so here. Chrissie used the Jubilee emblem to create a coaster, a water bottle – essential for keeping hydrated throughout the party – and a celebratory frame. Her bunting also encapsulates the spirit of the Jubilee with union flags, icons and the number 70. You can follow Chrissie’s crafting antics on her inspirational Instagram profile @madebychrissie.

Donna Williams, Artisan at Hobbycraft Chingford, created a more complex project by cutting a stencil on her Cricut machine for her Pebeo Paints design. She added silver crowns and the wording, cut from Glitter Iron-on and secured in place with an EasyPress.

For her second project, talented Donna used a metal wreath frame, attaching strops of felt before adding lettering and crown embellishments that were cut on her Cricut machine.

All aboard the Jubilee express!

Nicky from Hobbycraft Derby used her Cricut machine to help create a Jubilee themed bus. Now that really does make an impact and would be great to keep the little ones entertained during the celebrations.

Hobbycraft content creator Aisha created some wonderful bunting and she shares how to make it in this video.

You can follow the tutorial for this bunting on the Hobbycraft Ideas Hub, where there is also a link to the project in Design Space.
