Meet New Zealand Creators in Cricut Artist Program!

18 June 2023

Have you heard about the Cricut Artist Program? As the Cricut Community continues to grow across the globe, the program invites artists from around the world to apply and contribute approved original artwork to the Cricut library.

Since launching, we officially have more than a dozen Australian and New Zealand artists onboard to inspire us with their creativity! So, without further ado, we are super excited to introduce Ilse and Michael.

Meet Ilse Joubert

Ilse has been a part of the Cricut community, getting her very first machine in 2018 and now has joined as an artist!

Her love for the community drew her to signing up for the Contributing Artist Program when she saw a gap in designs which resonated with her. So, she took it upon herself to make her own!

She loves using her creativity through her designs to cater towards unrepresented topics. She focuses on unique wicca and paganism inspiration and loves personal pronouns that promote inclusivity and diversity within the Cricut community.

Ilse’s designs are a must try! Check out Ilse’s Cricut Design Space profile here.

Meet Michael from Lifestyle Craft Co.

Growing up Michael’s parents owned a farm which is where he draws inspiration for his designs. He loved watching any sort of heavy machinery at work, including tractors, excavators, cranes, you name it!

His projects are loved by Mum’s who use these designs to create their little ones prints on sweaters! The designs draw on the nostalgia of his own childhood, focusing on children’s illustrations designs that are more minimal to suit vinyl projects.

Children’s illustrations aren’t the only thing he does! His extensive earring designs are also well loved and keep a fresh range of ideas coming through to stay inspired!

His Cricut journey started during the pandemic as he had a lot of time to learn illustration and crafting. Initially he had a great understanding of die cutting which led him straight into earring template designs. He’s been inspired to continue creating by the wonderful Cricut Contributing Artist Program projects and is working on his own typography and illustration projects!
