Dollar store projects you can make with your Cricut

Dollar stores are a great place to find inexpensive items to use in DIY projects or to transform into beautiful home décor. When you combine dollar store finds with the versatility of a Cricut machine, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few projects that I not only I love, but my wallet loves too!

Paper wreath

A wreath is one item that can brighten any door, room, or home. As I was browsing my local dollar store, I came across these garden wire wreaths and knew I could spruce them up to make a wreath that was one of a kind! All I did was take some green cardstock and had my Cricut cut some leafy shapes that I found in Design Space. Then I hot glued it all together to create this fun greenery wreath.

Glass mug

You know what they say…hot girls have stomach issues. It’s a phrase that has taken the world by storm these last couple of months, and I have never related to anything more. So I found this cute glass mug at the dollar store and decided that I needed to add that phrase to the mug. I used some scrap vinyl I had lying around, and now everyone who sees this hot girl mug knows I have stomach issues. What a time to be alive!

Mirror

I also stumbled upon this hexagonal mirror while I was strolling through the aisles and felt like I needed to make something with it. I wanted the mirror to still be usable once I was done, so I opted to put a fun phrase on it that wouldn’t take up much room. The mirror now sits on my desk and I am very happy with how it turned out!

Peony

I really like all the paper, felt, and crepe paper 3D flowers that are in Design Space, and I have been wanting to make more for a while. I found some floral garden wire at the dollar store (I didn’t use very much of it, so I can save the rest for future projects), and thought I could make a felt peony out of it. So I dove into my felt stash and whipped out this lovely peony!

Bathroom containers

I’ve been on the hunt for items to help make my life a little bit cleaner and ended up scoring these glass containers at the dollar store. I found a font in Design Space that I liked and had my Cricut cut the words out. Then I applied the words to the containers and bam! I have an organized bathroom countertop (for at least a couple days). Seriously recommend this bathroom container project, since it was a quick project and really does help keep me organized!

Dollar store projects are so fun and don’t break the bank, so hopefully you feel inspired to make some of these! So if you create any of these projects, make sure to share #Cricut on social so we can see!
