Cricut smart cutting machines work with our Design Space app to cut or draw on a variety of materials so you can make personalized items for any occasion. You can use Cricut cutting materials like paper, cardstock, vinyl, Iron-On (heat transfer vinyl) & much more.
Cricut machines are used with the Design Space software on Windows or Mac computers, and the Design Space App for iOS or Android mobile devices. Check out our full list of System Requirements.
Most Design Space features and functions are available on all of these platforms. However, to use Cricut Venture™, the Foil Transfer System, and Cricut Knife Blade with a Cricut Maker machine, you will need to connect to Design Space on a Windows or Mac computer only.
Cricut smart cutting machines are used with the Design Space software which you can download on your computer from design.cricut.com or mobile devices from Apple App Store, or Google Play Store when you set up your new machine.
Design Space is free to download and use right away with your Cricut smart cutting machine. A selection of Cricut images and fonts come free with your account. You can also upload your own images and use your system fonts for free. The ever-growing Cricut library contains over a million premium images, and thousands of ready-to-make projects & fonts that you can purchase individually then use in your designs
Maximize your making with a Cricut Access subscription which gives you unlimited use of everything in the Design Space library marked with the Cricut Access symbol.*
*At this time, licensing agreements disallow inclusion of Disney, Warner Bros., Sesame Street, Autodesk, and other licensed content in Cricut Access. This content, where available, will require purchase.
All Cricut smart cutting machines can cut popular materials like paper, cardstock, vinyl, and Iron-On (heat transfer vinyl). Select machines can cut specialty materials* like faux leather and wood veneer. See a full list of compatible materials by machine here.
*Most materials can be cut with the standard blade that comes with the machine, but some specialty materials require a Deep-Point Blade, or may only be compatible with Cricut Maker machines using the Rotary Blade or Knife Blade.
