Introducing Monogram Maker

23 May 2022

Investing in Design Space® is a major focus for our team so we can deliver exciting new ways for you to make any project you can imagine. While we continue to improve functionality, design, and our content offerings across our apps, we are also looking for more ways to simplify the making experience.

Today, we’re announcing the rollout of a new Design Space for Desktop feature, available for Cricut Access subscribers, called Monogram Maker —a tool built into your canvas that gives you a simpler way to create hundreds of personalized monograms.

Create hundreds of personalized monogram designs right from your canvas

Cut, draw, and Print Then Cut hundreds of monogram designs for a variety of projects. From classic themes to sports and botanicals, you can get creative with the way you personalize. We’ve created a handful of unique monogram projects to inspire your next creation.

Monogram Maker is available for Cricut Access subscribers

Cricut Access, our subscription program, gives you unlimited access to our expanding content library, and now, new and innovative design features like Monogram Maker.

If you’re not a Cricut Access subscriber, see if you’re eligible to sign up for a free 30-day trial to check out what Monogram Maker – and all our available Cricut Access projects, images, and fonts – can offer you in your making experience.

We will continue to invest in features and improvements across the board for Design Space. This includes recent offerings for everyone – like Offset, Curved Text, Phrase Picker, and expanded shapes – that enable a more seamless design experience. You can expect a lot more to come to Design Space in the future.

FAQs

When will I be able to use or preview Monogram Maker in Design Space?

To help us ensure that everything goes smoothly, the Monogram Maker feature will roll out with the next Design Space for Desktop update (v7.9). We anticipate all users will get this update in the coming week.

Why is Monogram Maker only available for Cricut Access subscribers?

As we continue our work to improve the Design Space experience, we have a commitment to do so for all our members, including Cricut Access subscribers.

Can I play around with Monogram Maker if I don’t have a Cricut Access subscription?

Everyone will be able to see Monogram Maker right from your canvas and play around with the tool. If you’re a Cricut Access subscriber, you will have the ability to cut those monogram projects from any device. Without a Cricut Access subscription, you won’t be able to make it – you can, however, see if you’re eligible to sign-up for a 30-day free trial to see the benefits of Cricut Access.

How many different types of monograms can I create?

Choose from hundreds of combinations including fonts, images, and styles to create the design that best fits you.

Will you launch new styles for Monogram Maker in the future?

We can’t comment on future innovation, but we will listen to feedback from our community of makers and make necessary improvements and additions.

How do I use Monogram Maker compared to how I make my monograms today?

Before launching this feature, the only way to create custom monograms with Design Space content was to slice together different parts of images or upload your own. Now, simple personalization is available right on your canvas. For more instructions, visit our Help Center on how to use the feature.

Can I use special characters with Monogram Maker?

Yes. Not all fonts will support special characters, but you can enter any character you choose.

Is Monogram Maker available in all versions of Design Space apps?

You must have Design Space for Desktop version 7.9 for the feature to show up on your canvas.

When will this be available for mobile?

We will explore the opportunity for mobile as we get feedback from the community. We can’t promise anything, but it’s on our radar.

Will projects that I save during a free trial of Cricut Access still belong to me after the free trial ends?

The project will belong to you; but, like our Cricut Access images, you will not have the ability to cut your monogram after the trial ends.

If I use Monogram Maker to create a project and share it with a friend, will they be able to cut the design?

They will not be able to cut the monogram project unless they are a Cricut Access subscriber.
