Meet the Contributing Artist: Rebecca Käärid
Meet Rebecca! Her journey with Cricut began in an unexpected but inspiring way—through the encouragement of fellow crafters in online communities. What started as sharing her personal creations on Facebook blossomed into something so much bigger when others urged her to apply to the Contributing Artist Program. Their kind words gave her the confidence to take that leap, and she is incredibly grateful to now be part of this amazing community.
How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program?
While participating in Cricut Crafting Facebook Groups, I started receiving compliments on my creations, with many members asking if my designs were available on Design Space. When I explained that they were my own, several members encouraged me to look into the Contributing Artist Program, something I hadn’t even heard of before. Their enthusiasm and support gave me the confidence to apply, and I’m so grateful to have been accepted!
Where did your artistic journey begin?
My mom has always been my biggest inspiration. She has one of the most creative minds I’ve ever known, and it’s been an honor to learn from her. For as long as I can remember, we were always crafting together—turning everyday items into something magical, drawing pictures, painting rocks, and giving new life to anything we could find. Then, during my junior high years, a lady from my church introduced me to scrapbooking, and I was hooked. It felt like a match made in heaven

What does creativity mean to you?
Creativity is the exploration of expression, celebration, and purpose. I believe that God has gifted each of us with an innate desire to create in some form—whether it’s solving a problem, expressing emotions that words cannot fully capture, or bringing ideas to life. When I’m creating, I feel a deeper connection to God, gaining a glimpse of His perspective in interacting with His creation. It becomes a space where challenges are worked through, and victories are celebrated.
Who or what inspires you to create?
I find inspiration all around me. When I read my Bible, certain scripture passages speak directly to my heart, flowing effortlessly from my pen. My children also ignite my creativity, sparking a fire of ideas that bring my thoughts to life. Above all, the opportunity to encourage others in their faith and crafting journeys fills my heart with immense joy and deepens my passion for both.

What is your favorite type of craft, and what project are you most proud of?
My favorite project is always the one I just completed. There’s nothing quite like seeing an idea come to life, transforming from a mere thought into a tangible creation. Some projects hold sentimental value because of the person they are made for or the process they went through. Even when things don’t go as planned, re-inventing a project often brings a sense of accomplishment and surprise, reminding me to stay resilient and embrace the journey.
Describe your artistic style in one word:
My style is playful, as much of my work is inspired by designing for my children. From the beginning, I’ve cherished the cuteness and innocence of life. However, experiencing the complexities and challenges of adulthood has deepened my love for playful wordplay, puns, and lighthearted silliness.
My style is feminine. Growing up with brothers, I often leaned toward more masculine options to keep up with their world. Balancing my love for girlie expression was challenging, but now I have the freedom to embrace pinks, florals, and soft, flowing lines. I adore creating designs that reflect this feminine touch.
My style is simplistic. I find beauty in the power of simple shapes to convey complex ideas. Simple designs are incredibly versatile and accessible, making them easy for everyone to work with. I aim for my images to “say the most” with the least amount of elements, creating impactful, straightforward designs.
What do I like to do when I’m not creating?
My “bestest” friend (now husband) is the one who gets me out of the house and on grand adventures. Without him, I’d likely spend every waking hour in the basement crafting! His love for exploring has led us on countless memorable journeys filled with nature, treasured moments, and always a little bit of shenanigans. We especially enjoy exploring our beautiful capital city together!

What makes me laugh the most?
My children. Their unique view of the world, genuine curiosity, and ability to express exactly what’s on their minds always bring a smile to my face.
What is my favorite Cricut product?
The Cricut Mini Press! Being someone who loves crafting tiny projects, it’s the perfect tool for me. I adore how quickly it heats up, how relaxing it is to use, and most of all, its compact size. I even use it for other hobbies, like sewing seams!

Whether she is working with her favorite Cricut Mini Press or exploring their city with her husband, crafting is where her heart truly finds its rhythm. It’s a way to connect with others, share her story, and hopefully inspire people to discover their own creative passions. Head over to Rebecca’s Design Space profile to see more of her creations!
