How did you find Cricut, and why did you decide to join the Contributing Artist Program?
I saw a post about the program in a Cricut group I was part of and knew right away I wanted to apply. I’ve always loved Cricut’s products, and this program had so much to offer to both artists and the crafting community.
Where did your artistic journey begin?
This will show my age, but my first design program was Photoshop 2! I started by creating flyers and cards and eventually made artistic “signatures” for MSN and Yahoo groups. Over time, my designs evolved, and I transitioned to making digital art that people could use for their own projects. Creating has always been my passion, and it’s one of the few things I’ve truly stuck with through the years!
What does creativity mean to you?
Creativity is an infinite possibility, uniquely expressed by each person. I’ve seen many creative styles, and there’s room for everyone. Creativity makes the world a more beautiful place, and it connects us all—even if what appeals to one person might not appeal to another. That’s what makes it so unique!
Who or what inspires you to create, and why?
This may sound a bit offbeat, but it’s the truth: my mental health journey inspires me. I deal with OCD, PTSD, and anxiety, and creativity has been a powerful outlet for me. It’s a way to express my feelings and bring peace to my mind. Even though my mental health can sometimes be a challenge—like when I took a year-long hiatus from creating—it’s also opened doors and helped me find healing in unexpected ways.
What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of?
Believe it or not, my favorite craft doesn’t involve Cricut or design—it’s diamond painting! It really relaxes me and helps me unwind. My proudest piece is a fairy design by Hannah Lynn, which took me about 82 hours to complete!
Describe your artistic style.
- Retro – I’ve always been drawn to eclectic, retro styles, so this feels like the best fit.
- Cute – I love incorporating cute elements into my work!
- Vibrant – I’m drawn to bold colors; they catch my eye and make me feel happy.
What is your spirit animal, and why?
A unicorn! I’m unique, mysterious, and a little bit magical. I actually collect unicorn stuffed animals; they’re whimsical and remind me to keep a bit of magic in my life.
What is your favorite family tradition?
Christmas Eve dinner with the whole family—it’s filled with love, laughter, and lots of great food.
Bobbie’s vibrant, retro designs reflect her colorful personality and lifelong love for creativity. Whether you’re looking for something cute, nostalgic, or downright magical, her designs will surely bring a smile!
