How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program?
As an illustrator, I am always seeking inspiration for crafts and images. I’ve been inspired by creators who use images from Cricut, which sparked my interest in becoming a Contributing Artist. I have a deep passion for my craft and believe I have something meaningful to share with fellow crafters. This led me to explore the process of becoming a Contributing Artist, eager to contribute my unique designs to the Cricut community.

Where did your artistic journey begin?
My artistic journey began when I was a child, driven by my love for drawing and fascination with studying the creations of others. As I grew, this passion led me to pursue an education in the arts, where I could develop my skills and deepen my understanding. I’m grateful to have always had the unwavering support of my family, who encouraged me to follow my creative path.
What does creativity mean to you?
To me, creativity is about being attuned to the vibrant colors, shapes, sounds, and emotions that make up the world around us. It’s the ability to take all of that inspiration and channel it into expressing our inner thoughts and feelings in a way that’s uniquely our own.
Who or what inspires you to create?
I am deeply self-motivated and have always dreamed of transforming my passion into a fulfilling career. Along my journey, I discovered Sarkodit, an illustrator and designer whose work has become a source of inspiration for me. His creativity and success not only motivate me but also reinforce my belief that achieving my dream is truly possible.

What is your favorite type of craft, and what project are you most proud of?
My favorite type of craft is 3D layered paper cutting because it lets me blend multiple images and arrange them creatively to bring a completely new project to life.
Describe your artistic style in one word:
I would describe my artistic style as:
Folkloric: I’m passionate about creating designs inspired by the Scandinavian and Folk Art style, bringing a touch of tradition and charm to my work.
Balanced: I enjoy crafting images that cater to a wide variety of celebrations and hobbies, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Clean: My designs feature crisp lines and easy-to-read fonts, offering a visually soothing and accessible aesthetic.

What is your spirit animal and why?
My spirit animal is the cat because it is often associated with curiosity, adventure, and independence. Cats are also patient creatures. In the culture where I live, there is a belief that cats possess the power to dispel negative energies.
What is your favorite family recipe?
I love all of my mother’s food recipes, but my absolute favorite is called opor ayam. It’s a delicious dish made with chicken cooked in coconut milk and flavored with aromatic spices like lemongrass and galangal.
If you could have superpowers, what would they be?
I would choose the power of time travel. While I wouldn’t alter any historical events, I would love to experience the past firsthand. I’m also curious about what the future holds.

Alanna’s artistic journey is a beautiful blend of passion, inspiration, and cultural heritage. Guided by her love for creativity, she continues to craft designs that resonate with a wide audience.
