With Christmas on the horizon, there is no better way to prepare for the festivities than with crafts. Cricut-made Christmases add extra sparkle and joy to the winter season and there are countless ways to add that special touch. As a centrepiece, I always prioritise the decor on my Christmas tree. This year, I DIYed several of my tree decorations to spread some inspiration and festive cheer.
Tree skirt
Arranging a porcelain village beneath the tree is a tradition for some families and I fancied the idea of displaying a village while saving room for gifts under my tree. My solution — heat-press a snowy “village” display onto a tree skirt using iron-on. This jolly project saved a pretty penny and a lot of set-up time.
Ribbon embellishment
Draped around the tree is a ribbon of all colours, shapes and patterns. This detail is the essential base layer to complement the beauty of your ornaments. I used Glitter Iron-On and an EasyPress Mini™ to add a little extra sparkle before layering on my other decorations.
Dried orange garland
I love the feel of traditional, homely decor for the season and this dried orange garland gave just that vibe. Using cardstock and iron-on vinyl to create these orange slices is a seasonal hack I will use for years to come.
Gingerbread ornaments
Sweeten up your tree with gingerbread cookie ornaments! Chipboard is a durable and versatile material great for making ornaments.
Star topper
The tree isn’t complete without a dazzling tree topper. With countless themes and projects to choose from in Design Space, I opted for a classic gold star. Cardstock projects are my favourites for decor and this star brought all of the tree’s elements together.
Christmas brings some of the best times for crafting and tree decorations are only the start. Design Space holds thousands of projects to craft the most magical celebrations of the year.
