Personalize in Full Color with our Ultra‑Compact Machine: How Cricut Joy™ 2 Works with Printable Materials 

We’re thrilled to announce that Cricut Joy™ 2, our ultra-compact — and super affordable — new cutting machine unlocks full-color possibilities. That’s because, unlike the original Cricut Joy, this machine has Print Then Cut capabilities meaning it’s compatible with our line of printable materials and works with your home inkjet printer to help you make hyper-personalized vibrant stickers, apparel, decals, temporary tattoos, and so much more — at a fraction of the cost of buying them. 

How Print Then Cut Works 

To use Print Then Cut, simply create your design in our Design Space® app then print it on one of our printable materials using your home inkjet printer. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to trim the printed material, then load it on a machine mat and into your Cricut Joy 2 machine. This machine has a built-in sensor that will automatically recognize and precision-cut around inkjet-printed images to help bring your full-color projects to life.  

Picking the Right Printable Material 

Cricut Joy 2 works with all our printable materials, but it’s also important to pick the right one for your project. So, let’s take a look! 

Cricut Printable Sticker Paper 

For quick custom stickers and gift tags in vibrant colors, our Printable Sticker Paper is a great option. It’s compatible with Cricut Joy 2 and perfect for organizational stickers for planners and calendars, reward and chore chart stickers for the little ones, personalized gift tags, and so much more. 

Cricut Printable Vinyl 

Looking to make more durable stickers and other full-color projects with your Cricut Joy 2 machine? Our Printable Vinyl is great for full-color stickers as well as personalized decals, labels, and so much more. 

Cricut Printable Waterproof Sticker Set 

Combining Printable Vinyl with Vinyl Laminate, our Printable Sticker Sets help you make quick and custom full-color stickers that are waterproof and UV resistant. Once your stickers are printed and cut, the laminate sheet goes over your stickers to create a layer of protection. This makes this material — and these stickers — perfect for tumblers, coolers, car bumpers, and more. 

Cricut Printable Iron-On  

Available for light and dark fabrics, Printable Iron-On allows you to create custom full-color heat transfer projects with your Cricut Joy 2.  There’s no need for layering iron-on — simply print, then cut your personalized design, then apply it to your blank using a heat press. Make super vibrant personalized tees, sweatshirts, backpacks, totes, and so much more. 

Tips for using Printable Iron-On: 

• Do not mirror your design before printing 

• Pre‑wash blanks (no softener) 

• Follow the Cricut Heat Guide for exact pressing instructions 

• Wait 48 hours before first washing project 

• Launder projects inside‑out, cold; hang‑dry for longest life 

Printable Temporary Tattoo Sheets 

Make custom full-color tattoos in a flash using your Cricut Joy 2 with our Printable Temporary Tattoo Sheets. Great for party favors, team swag, and so much more.  

Tips for using Printable Temporary Tattoo Sheets: 

• Mirror your design before printing 

• Blow‑dry printed material for 2–3 minutes on high, then let cool 

• Apply the clear adhesive over the cooled material and burnish out bubbles, then place on Light Grip Machine Mat and into your cutting machine 

• To apply to skin: peel clear layer, place face down on clean skin, press a thoroughly damp cloth for 25–35 seconds — apply only to clean, dry, intact skin 

• Store unused sheets in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use 

Other Tips for working with Printable Materials 

• Printable Magnets, Temporary Tattoos, Sticker Paper, and color/effect Printable Vinyl are for inkjet printers only— load into your printer, so you print on the blank side. 

• Print on Letter and A4 sized materials. The printout will include a dotted line printed down the center of the page. Trim the material along the dotted line and then place on your cutting mat 

• Let your printed design dry fully before cutting. 

• Use Light Grip Material Mat. 

• Do not use Transfer Tape with these materials.
