Cricut Crafts with Blessings in a Backpack for Children in Need

12 January 2020

We are continuously amazed by our members and the incredibly kind acts they do for others.

Before the year ended, Cricut partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to personalize bags for 62 students in need. Avid Cricut user and local Blessings in a Backpack coordinator, Sara Phillips, fills bags full of food supplies each weekend to feed children from Carnahan Elementary in San Antonio, Texas who would otherwise go hungry.

Phillips recruited volunteers beforehand to design and make the personalized bags with Cricut machines and materials in an event held at Carnahan Elementary.

The event brought out the community volunteers, including student-athletes from nearby Brandeis High School, and the local school district station to decorate and stuff bags for the holiday break – a 16-day supply of food!
