Tatiana Cociorva, a talented artist from Romania, brings a unique flair to the Cricut Contributing Artist Program with her tattoo-inspired style and love for intricate details. Let’s explore her creative journey and discover what fuels her artistic passion.

How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program?

I discovered Cricut through a friend who thought it would perfectly fit my creative style. I’ve been sharing my crafts on various platforms for a while, so I thought, why not take the next step? Joining the Contributing Artist Program felt like a natural progression, and I was excited about the opportunity to showcase my art to a broader audience. Seeing my designs come to life through Cricut and connecting with fellow artists and crafters worldwide has been an amazing journey.

Where did your artistic journey begin?

My artistic journey began when I was young, always drawing and creating. Those early years were filled with sketches and doodles, and it was clear even then that art was my calling. I went on to study at the National Art University in Bucharest, where I honed my skills and delved into digital art and crafting. Since then, my creative path has continued to evolve—I now spend my days painting, drawing, and working on digital goods that express my artistic vision.

What does creativity mean to you?

To me, creativity is about making others feel something through artistic expression. It’s not just about creating something visually appealing; it’s about connecting with people on a deeper level. Whether it’s a piece that evokes joy, nostalgia, or even a bit of whimsy, the ability to elicit emotions through art is what makes creativity so powerful and fulfilling.

Who or what inspires you to create, and why?

Creating is my way of life—it comes naturally and is woven into everything I do. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Inspiration often finds me in the beauty of nature, the changing seasons, and the intricate details of the world around us. In these everyday moments, I find the spark to create, whether it’s a new design or a piece of art that captures the playful essence of the natural world.

What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of?

I have several large bundles that I am particularly proud of, each one representing countless hours of work and bursts of inspiration. When it comes to crafting, making clothes has become a favorite offline activity of mine—I love the tactile nature of working with fabric and bringing designs to life in wearable form. On the digital side, I’m currently drawn to papercuts and layered laser-cut crafts. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the precision and depth of these projects, and I enjoy the challenge of making each piece as intricate as possible.

Describe your artistic style.

If I were to describe my style in three words, it would be Whimsical, Nature, and Intricate. I gravitate towards creating pieces that are richly detailed and infused with the playful spirit of nature. I love capturing the essence of the forest, the seasons, and all the tiny, beautiful elements that often go unnoticed. My art is about celebrating the natural world and inviting others to see it through my eyes, with a touch of whimsy that makes each piece unique and engaging.

For me, crafting isn’t just a hobby—it’s a form of self-expression that I cherish deeply. I love experimenting with new materials and techniques, constantly pushing the boundaries of what I can create. Whether it’s a delicate paper craft or a bold digital design, I pour my heart into every project, hoping to inspire others to see the beauty in the details and embrace their creative journeys.
