Cricut Contributing Artist series: Sarah Rogers

3 May 2024

Sarah Rogers, owner of Beauty of Two LLC, invites us in to her colorful realm of crafting and design. Her creativity knows no bounds. Today, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Sarah to explore her artistic journey, inspirations, and the essence of creativity itself.

How did you find Cricut, and why did you join the Contributing Artist Program?

One of my fantastic designer friends told me about the CAP program last May. I quickly applied but didn’t read the instructions thoroughly (I got excited), so I got rejected for my first application. I waited 6 months, applied again in October, and was SO beyond excited when I got the email accepting me. I cried. It is amazing to be aligned with such an iconic brand in this space.

Where did your artistic journey begin?

I have always been creative. My mom was an artist; we always created and crafted while growing up. She had a small business selling dough ornament and would do craft fairs. My Dad was in software sales and did well, but she loved providing for the family creatively. She, unfortunately, passed away from Cancer at 51, over 15 years ago now, but she really instilled the importance of creating and the arts in me. It was part of her soul and part of mine.

What does creativity mean to you?

It’s a way of life. We were all born to create whatever that may be. It’s in us. It’s bigger than us, and to me, that’s sacred. We are each unique and special and are meant to share that with the world. I think creating brings us joy because it allows us to be true to our inner selves. When I fully give in to that, I feel peace, and all the outside noise drowns out.

Who or what inspires you to create, and why?

My kids, who are 7 and 5, remind me that the little things are really the big things. They are also so creative and show me so much beauty and wonder. I have always been creative, but something about Motherhood really made my creativity bolder, more powerful, and more important.

What is your favorite type of craft, or what project have you created that you are most proud of?

I love making gifts for people, whatever that may be. I really stretch myself and make things unique to them. I try to do this with my kids’ Teachers. Those are the crafts I’m the proudest of. I always try to make them something they would use and be proud to carry around. Stickers, though, are my favorite thing to make!

Describe your artistic style in one word and give an explanation.

I’m a flower child through and through. I have always loved the color and being whimsical about life, which shines through in my design style: bohemian, retro, and fun.

What makes you laugh the most?

My kids. The adorable things they say, I’m always laughing.

Are you a clean or messy person?

I’m an eternal optimist, and someday, I will be the most organized and clean person there is. Until then, my creative brain keeps me chaotic and messy. I am so thankful for my crazy, organized, and structured husband.

How would your friends describe you?

I’m incredibly passionate. I’m loyal to my core but also believe in what you put out in the world you get back. Sometimes, we must let things go to thrive. I’m empathetic and love deep conversations, music, and having fun.
