Cricut is partnering with Michaels to support Project Sunshine with a $5 donation for every Cricut cutting machine purchased at Michaels starting November 22 – December 1, 2024.
Project Sunshine’s mission is to deliver the healing power of play to children with medical needs through trained and dedicated volunteers.
“Project Sunshine’s partnership with Cricut and Michael’s amplifies our ability to bring moments of joy to children facing medical challenges. Their commitment to creativity and personalization aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver healing play experiences that make each child feel special and seen. Through these meaningful partnerships, we’re able to transform hospital rooms into creative spaces where imagination and healing come together.” – Whitney Namm Pollack – CEO Project Sunshine
Last week, Cricut and Michael’s kicked-off the partnership by hosting a “Here to Party” event at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas, TX. During the event, employees from both companies worked together to deliver healing play to patients at the hospital by making personalized crafts incorporating the fall festival theme including a pumpkin Cricut Tote bag with each child’s name.
“Creating something with our hands is more than just an activity; it’s an act of love. It provides an outlet for expression, a distraction from pain, and a sense of joy. Project Sunshine offered us the gift to bring this outlet to kids and families facing challenges and uncertainty. The experience was amazing, and I am thankful to have been included.” – Gia Lewis Director – Senior Buyer Michaels
Cindy Sweeney, Senior Director of Sales at Cricut said, “Cricut is so thrilled to partner this holiday season with Michael’s and Project Sunshine. We believe in the power of creativity to lift spirits and make a meaningful difference. Together, we’re crafting moments of hope, empowerment, and connection for those who need it most. Join us as we use creativity to brighten lives. Every $5 donation can bring sunshine and healing into the children’s hospitals partnering with Project Sunshine.”
Cricut is looking forward to hosting the next “Here to Play” event with Project Sunshine and Michaels at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
