LAYERS
Well, the autumnal equinox has come and gone. Folks in the northern hemisphere are pulling the sweaters out of their closets, while folks in the southern hemisphere are preparing for some fun in the sun. Wherever you are, and whatever season you are heading into, enjoy it!
Autumn is one of my favorite seasons, because I can wear layers! Besides the obvious practical reasons for wearing layers, they are fun to play with. I like to coordinate colors and textures that complement each other. Likewise, layers can work visual wonders for your crafting projects and scrapbook layouts as well. Be brave. Add a layer here and there, play with the colorful palate that you have. Even Mother Nature is playing with her own palate of colors--layering an array of leaves and textures everywhere.
This week, be sure to read Crafty Kimber's in depth cartridge exploration of the new Cricut Imagine Machine. As always, I wish you well in your crafting adventures.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
Name: Ashley Lantto
About: I live in Minnesota with my husband and our nearly two-year-old son. I enjoy all types of crafts and love to decorate our home. This has been a huge, but fun project! This room will eventually be our son's new big boy room. It was hard to pick just one picture to show it off. Imagine cars, semis, and trucks driving all around the room!

Ashley's Project: "Big Boy Room" Wall Décor
Cartridges Used:
- George and Basic Shapes
- Create a Critter
- "Just Because" Cards
- My Community
- New Arrival
- Stretch your Imagination
- Zooballoo
Instructions: 1. I started off by painting the bottom half of the room a grassy green and the top half sky blue, with a curvy road separating the two colors.
2. To make the road, I used painter's tape and measured to be sure it was 6" wide all the way around. I cut 2" vinyl rectangles from George and placed them along the center of the road, measuring the distance apart as I went.
3. Most of them were cut from vinyl at 6"-7" with the Fit to Length function, though the semis and the bus are a little longer.
4. Add some clouds, a sun, and an airplane to give it a finished look. Enjoy! Our son loves it!

YOUR NOTABLE TIP
Today's tip comes from message board member SusanD. Thanks for sharing your awesome tip!
"I hate to login every time at every site I visit. My solution was to 'bookmark' the Cricut message board home page after I had logged in, then stick it up in my toolbar section. You may have to delete some icons that you don't use to do this. All of my favorite sites are in my toolbar section."

HELP FROM THE EXPERTS
Here are the hot topics in Customer Support this week:
The new Cricut message boards are up! We still have some boards to move over, and this will happen soon. We appreciate your patience as this was quite the project for Provo Craft. Our IT department has been working very hard on this.
The old boards will be "read only" October 1st. If there is something you want off the old boards, make sure you gather that information. When the cartridge forums start moving over, they will open with no posts or projects--fresh for you to fill up with new projects. We understand this can be frustrating, which is why we are giving you time to grab all of your favorites.
We are happy to see that many of you are hard at work posting. It's fun to see how many posts are made each day. Your enthusiasm is contagious! We are sure the boards will continue to be a place for learning and sharing creative ideas.
As you signed on the boards for the first time. You were asked to read the Provo Craft message boards rules. You agreed to follow those. (Read the rules again.)
Monitoring the Provo Craft message boards will is a big task. If each of us read and follow the rules, it will make the Admin's job much easier and be a pleasant place for all of us. If you have any questions please, PM or email the Admin.
