SWARM WINNER
Thank you Provo Craft. Our Ladies Night Out Group is so excited to have won the Swarm for August 2009. We started as a group of scrap bookers who would meet for the Mega Meet in Michigan yearly, for the scrap and then at our homes. We evolved to scrap booking monthly at Archivers "Scrap Mania" (our local scrapbook store). We scrap once a month and our group has grown to about 10-15 people. Last Christmas many of us received Cricuts for Christmas, and we started bringing our Cricuts to use during the Scrap Mania. Thank you Provo Craft, we're so excited!

Cartridges Used: |

Winter Woodland, Paper Doll Dress Up, A Child's Year |
| Instructions: |
| I had a lot of fun making these houses. Once you start it really doesn't take all that long to do. They are pretty easy to put together. Cricut Cartridges I used for my Spooky Town are: Winter Woodland, Paper Doll Dress Up, A Child's Year. I cut the houses at fit to page on 12 x 12 cardstock from Winter Woodland Cartridge. Spiders, Spider Webs, witches pot and bats were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. Witches were cut from A Child's Year Cartridge. Other embellishments I used were pattern paper, stickles, and cotton balls |

CRICUT BOARD
This week's highlighted threads are:

TIPS TREASURE CHEST -
Friendly reminder: When cutting paper smaller than the default size for either machine, line up the bottom left corner of the paper with the bottom left corner of the mat. Remember that after you've navigated the blade to the upper right corner of your paper prior to cutting, you need to select the "Set Paper Size" button. This will tell the Cricut that you have selected a smaller paper size. Otherwise it still "thinks" that the default size paper is loaded.

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION - Stamping Solutions Cartridge
I must apologize for missing an exploration last week. Every time I seem to think I have a handle on organizing my time to craft, I am mistaken. I love to play and explore with my Cricut and on the weeks where my time is absorbed into other things, I go through withdrawls of playing with my Cricut. There are so many new Cricut cartridges that I feel I need to write about two cartridges at once to get caught up on everything. Thanks for your patience while I wade through all the new cartridges and explore them one at a time. In today exploration I will explore the Stamping Solutions cartridge. Yes, this is one of the Solution cartridges and only has two creative features (Blackout and Shadow), but the cartridge is full of fun word phrases and images.
Have you always wanted that stamp look but not wanted to get ink all over your fingers? Well, now there is a Cricut cartridge that will give you that stamp look in words and phrases. Some examples of words on this cartridge are: "merci", "dream", "details", "xoxo", "you rock", "thinking of you", "chill out", "forever & ever", "a shower", "wish", "take note", "totally you", and "what's up". There are tons of other words and phrases but I didn't want to bore you with all the words. Some of the other images that come on this cartridge are: owl, flowers, presents, dragonfly, star, crown, heart, rattle, birthday cake, birds, swirls, tree, butterfly, leaves, and some decorative squares (perfect for frames). Some added images that are created in a border style are: circle, butterfly, hearts, and flowers.
I looked on the message board to see what had been created with this cartridge. Here are a few cards that I thought were adorable and very creative:
- StampinMeg from the website created this card using the phrase "what's up" and the owl. So cute! I used her owl for the top pic on this exploration, but to check her creation click on this link.
- Mariahannemann from the message board created a chill out card and used the coffee mug (see photo).
If you have any creations that are not on the message board, then you need to add them for all the world to see what you have done. Now if you are thinking, yes, you do have creations but you are not sure how to upload them to the website, send in a message to customer service and they will help explain how to use the message board, or you can click on FAQ once you have logged onto the site for help with a variety of questions.
As always, the creative features that come with cartridge compliment each of the phrases or images, and help to make your project pop.
Check back next week and see which cartridge I explore. Happy Cricuting all my fellow Cricuteers!
