Happy Autumnal Equinox!

This is definitely a season of change. In the northern hemisphere, trees will begin to display their beautiful bright Fall colors and soon, sweater weather will return. Our friends in the southern hemisphere are enjoying warmer weather and flowers will soon be blooming to display their beautiful bright Spring attire.

No matter where you are or what the season, Cricuteers will always find plenty of majestic, and beautiful outdoor backdrops, and displays to inspire them. Enjoy the season!

Happy Cricuting :-)

About:
Hello! I'm Stacy Armstrong from the beautiful coast of Georgia. I've been in love with the Cricut for several years . I use my Expression and my Baby bug for scrapbooking, paper crafting, home decorating and organizing and school projects. I can't imagine life without it!! I'm glad to be able to share with the world one of the countless ways to use the Cricut.

Stacy's Project: Hummingbird Box

Cartridges Used:

Home Accents
Instructions:
Take any wooden box and spray paint. (I purchased this one from Creative Xpress.com) Cut a sheet of double sided tape (Such as Therm-o-web or Terrifically Tacky Tape) using Home Accents for the flower and Hummingbird. Carefully peel back one side of the tape and adhere glitter and beads. I found the best way is to dip the die cut tape into the glitter. Set aside. Cover entire top of box with sheet tape. Adhere flower, vine and hummingbird. Next fill in top by sprinkling glitter over entire box. Tap down on glitter to ensure it adheres well.

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION - Wedding, Locker Talk

This week has been kind of crazy in my household. One of my roommates decided to get a group of people together to write a play. This play process has been going on in the house for about the last month. This past weekend was the actual play. The event went off really well and I was so proud of my roommate for taking on this challenge and succeeding her dream. The day before the play she came to me with a question. She wanted me to cut some images from the Cricut (see I am famous with my roommates, they know that I am obsessed with my Cricut: aka Eddie) to put on the cakes that she had ordered. She wanted a wedding couple so that the cakes would look like pretend wedding cakes. I pulled up my DesignStudio and use the keywords section to find the image that I wanted. Then I pulled the cartridge Wedding and cut the image that she wanted. Check out the picture, the cakes looked really good.

Along with the play this week we (my roommate & I) decided we wanted to provide a dinner to all the cast for their efforts in the play. I decided that my little Cricut bug (aka Eddie) would come in handy for this. I pulled out my DesignStudio and started creating the invitations and the napkin holders. I used the trophy from Locker Talk and a blackout square image from another button on the same cartridge to make the napkin holders. I've included the cut file--in case anyone else out there in Cricut world wanted to have it. For the invitation I use the same square and trophy just arranged differently. I cut a bigger square out of black cardstock for the back, a smaller square with the trophy placed in the corner. Then I cut additional trophies to glue on top of the smaller square. I printed my invite information on regular paper and added a brad in the corner. Yes, my invitations are really simple, but they look classy and that is what I wanted. See my photos for the invitations and napkin holders. I also used the same image to make some extra decorations to place around the room, and then brought out all the real trophies that I had in the house to use for decorations. The room looks great and dinner is cooking as I write this exploration. I am so glad that I have my little Cricut bug, because I get to make lots of creative items and impressed toms of people- hehehe!

Check out next week as I create something special using the Cricut Cartridges. Happy Cricuting!

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, 'Did you bring joy?' The second was, 'Did you find joy?'"
