HOLIDAY FOOD, FAMILY, AND FUN!
With the big day approaching so soon, I can't help but think about some of the things we enjoy most this time of year. Togetherness and great holiday food are definitely on the list. I love getting together with my family and friends during this season. One of my favorite activities is sitting around the table with my loved ones, enjoying a delicious Christmas dinner. We laugh, tell stories, simply shoot the breeze and enjoy each other?s company.

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION
One week to Christmas, and I hope you all have your Christmas shopping finished. I have finished all my Christmas projects and cards for 2011, now to get them in the mail. This week I also spent time exploring the seasonal cartridges Scandinavian Christmas Cards and ?Tis the Season by Creative Memories.
?Scandinavian Christmas Cards? is a cute cartridge full of Christmas images. This cartridge comes with ten images that include Santa, an angel, bells, trees, ornaments, a dove, baby Jesus, and a deer. You can cut several different Christmas phrases such as ?Seasons Greetings?, ?Happy Holliday?s?, ??Tis the Season?, ?Peace on Earth?, ?Deck the Halls?, and ?Making Spirits Bright?. This cartridge also comes with two different cards and envelops, which means you have everything you need to make a quick card. These images could also be used for tags or to decorate those scrapbook moments of Christmas 2011. I found some plain paper bags in my crafty room (you know how you save everything) and decided to use them to wrap up some quick Christmas presents. I used this cartridge to decorate the bags and was really pleased with how they turned out, see photo.
The other cartridge that I played with this week is ??Tis the Season? by Creative Memories. You can only purchase this cartridge from Creative Memories, but I was able to get a hold of a copy so I could explore it and share my results with all of you. This cartridge comes with six creative features which are: Layer, Phrase, Phrase/Layer, Santa?s Workshop Font, Sleigh Ride Font, and Monogram Font. I love the images and that you can cut 4 different font styles. I used the ?Sleigh Ride Font? on my Christmas card, see photo below. Along with a full upper and lower case font, plus numbers you also get ten different styles of snowflakes with shadows, I used one of the snowflakes on the mittens card and on my ?Let it Snow? card. The ?Santa?s Workshop Font? has both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and ten different labels with shadows. The monogram font comes with letters inside a flower shape or a long frame
shape. The phrase feature lets you cut ?Family Traditions?, ?Merry Christmas?, ?Hope?, ?Peace on Earth?, ?Joy?, ?Jingle Bells?, ?Noel?, ?Christmas Carols?, ?O Holy Night?, ?Dear Santa?, ?Wish List?, ?December?, ?25?, ?North Pole?, ?Holiday Traditions?, ?Santa?s Workshop?, ?Under the Tree?, ?Believe?, ?Sleigh Ride?, ?Winter Wonderland?, and ?Holiday?s?. Also included with this feature are ten different borders, which include socks, presents, pears, mittens, trees, buttons, ornaments, wreaths, and snowflakes. Some of the images that you can cut with this cartridge are reindeer, bells, snowman, sled, snowflakes, mittens, stocking, sleigh, Santa and Santa hat, robin, light bulb, ornaments, tree, holly, gingerbread man, presents, star, flourish, wreath, sock, belt buckle, and a French horn. I cut out the Snowman head and the mittens to create a few quick cards, which turned out great. Other ideas that you can use these images with are as tags, scrapbook pages, on wood blocks, cards, party invitations, and the presents could also be used for the birthday category, the light bulb, ornaments, sled, Santa hat, etc. would make great easy banners for a Christmas party.
Well this wraps up my exploration, ?Happy Holidays? or as they say in England ?Happy Christmas?. I wish you all a wonderful holiday.
