THE GOOD OLD DAYS
My sister was resting on the couch after a particularly trying day at home chasing the kids. As she sat contemplating her perception of her lot in life, her two year-old sat down by her and said, “Mom, these are the good old days, huh?” She smiled and replied, “Yes, they are!”
Her perceptions of her “lot in life” had changed in an instant because of a simple little question out of the mouth of a babe.
Children provide the best quotable captions for many of our favorite scrapbook pages. My toddling nephew reminded my sister of something we all need to remember from time to time. Whenever a day seems gloomy, our family likes to remind each other of “the good old days”.
Cricut products can help you preserve all of your important memories with style and class and promote your brighter perception of life.
This week, be sure to check out Crafty Kimber's cartridge exploration of the Beep Beep, and Yeehaw Lite Cricut Cartridges. As always, I wish you success in your crafting adventures.

YOUR NOTABLE TIP
Today's tip comes from message board member BoomerKnows. Thanks for sharing the clever tip!
“I finished off a ball point pen recently. Instead of throwing it in the trash, I thought it might make a good scoring tool. Paired with a ruler it's a great scoring tool! The pen already has rubber grip, the tip is fine & easy to control. It is very handy for doing the little scoring on the pop-up cartridge cut outs, simpler than digging out the score-board tool. I just thought to share in hopes it helps someone else.” |

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION
This week I was lucky enough to explore cartridges that are from the Cricut Lite collection, "Yee-Haw" and "Beep Beep". As soon as I saw the cartridge "Yee-Haw" I got really excited because this cartridge is all about cowboys and country items. Every year I get together with my family, and we brand cows. I have some wonderfully fun pictures and wasn't quite sure what Cricut images would fit with these pictures. This cartridge is perfect because I can cut out cowboys and cowgirls riding horses, sheep, a cowboy roping to go with my photos. A few other items that would fit my theme are the cows, fire, barn, fence, cowboy boots, and snake. This cartridge is also perfect for all you horse lovers (I like horses too, just don't tell my dogs-lol). The rest of the images that come on this cartridge are: sheriff badge, sheriff, skull, cactus, saddle, bucking horse, barn, stars, three different kinds of tags, two frames, and ten different phrases. Some examples of the phrase are: "Howdy", "Giddy Up", "100% Country", and "Home on the Range". Please note the creative feature that comes with this cartridge is "Layer" so now you have a way to make your die cuts stand out and add some fun color. I cut a few items out to use with my scrapbooking pages, I cut the cow (of course) and intend to use it has a journal tag; I will need one for each scrapbook page to tell the story of my family's branding event. I especially need to document how one of my nephews caused a fence to fall down, he didn't get hurt but his cowboy hat got crumbled.
- The Pink Stamper created this adorable card (see left) using the "Yee Haw" cartridge, see her blog for other ideas on what she created with this cartridge.
The other cartridge I explored was "Beep Beep". I wish I had a son because this cartridge would be perfect for little boy scrapbook pages, but I shouldn't forget those girls who love cars and trucks too! This cartridge would be perfect for anyone who likes cars. How fun would it be to cut out the cars, laminate them, add a magnet, and put them on the fridge for the kids to play with. Other images include, helicopter, fire truck, train, school bus, tractors, scooter, trucks, race car, dump truck, cerement truck, taxi, tank, police car, ambulance, and ten phrases. A few examples of the phrases are: "vroom", "Time to Fly", "Beep Beep", and "Honk!".
- Obsessed with Scrapbooking created this adorable scrapbook page with the "Beep Beep" cartridge. See her blog for other ideas on what you can do with this cartridge.
That wraps up this week's exploration; I hope you enjoy these cartridges as much as I have had fun playing with them this week. Now off to finish my branding scrapbook pages. Happy Crafting!!
