My daughter and some of her friends wanted to do a fundraiser for Children's Hospital, and they decided to make bookmarks. At first they were just going to cut rectangular pieces of paper and decorate them, but then she asked me if we could cut the rectangles with the Cricut. Sure, I said. A little more digging and we found that the Animal Kingdom cartridge does bookmark cuts. She had some paper, and I pulled out some of my "what am I ever going to use this for?" paper the bookmarks were a huge hit! Then they decided that if they personalized them they could sell them for even more, so then we were cutting letter to add to the bookmarks. She really wanted to do some in paper with a peace sign on them, but we could not find paper she liked, so we found a peace sign screen saver image online and just printed it out on white paper and made our OWN peace sign paper.

I think we charged $1, but we used paper that I had and did not really like any more, so there was no cost for supplies to the girls. If I ever did it again I would NOT do the names . . . got to be too much . . . this person wants this name on a bookmark with a dog on the top, and polka dot paper on the bottom . . . I would probably just get the paper, make up a bunch and have them sell what we had made.

What a sweet thing for your daughter and her friends to do. The bookmarks are so pretty, and I know they were a delight for everyone that received them. You must be very proud of your daughter, she is a true blessing!
