I am so frustrated please help. My machine has been working fine!! Up until today I turn it on to cut some designs and says my device is not attached. Clearly it is! It was working fine the other day.

The following things I've done:

1.Updated drivers
2.Updated firmware
3.Unplugged USB device plugged into another slot in my computer even used another USB cord and did not detect.
3.Turned off my device and turned back on like 20 times and waited in between.
4.Re-installed Cricut Craftroom.

So I am pretty much out of ideas and STUCK with NOTHING!!! Anybody have any idea what's going on or how to fix this problem?

THANK YOU!!Mad

Make sure the cable is securely connected or you could possibly have a bad cable. On mine, the end is loose so I have to make sure it didn't fall out or just not be securely connected. You could also possibly have a short in the cable. If none of these suggestions are the cause, give PC a call and let them troubleshoot with you. No need to further your frustration. Smile

Did your antivirus or internet browser update? If so, that could be the problem.

I had the same problem with my machine. I tried troubleshooting with Cricut over the phone and could not solve the problem and since my machine was out of warranty, they said I was out of luck and so sorry and so on. Well I tried to fix it myself because I knew the problem was with the USB port and I broke the little white part. I reattached it and tried again and went to Cricut cync to the troubleshoot place and some times it would detect the USB and would go only so far. I spent hours on the phone and also took the machine apart 3 times until I finally broke the USB little wires. So I got on the yellow pages and found a Computer Repair place that replaced the USB port and the cable and now this baby is working.(it only took them 3 hours) I live in the Salt Lake City area and I will be happy to tell anyone the name of the Company that repair my Cricut so I didn't have to throw it out the window.

HELP PLEASE!!!!

Just bought my first Cricut E2 and i am so anxious to use!!! I am able to cut by just using the machine but when i connect the USB to my cricut it comes up on the machine and says connected and then goes away. Not sure if the "connected" is supposed to stay up there or not? But when i try to cut from cricut craft room it says checking mat and the mat has been loaded but then it never does anything after that??? PLEASE HELP I AM NEW TO THIS AND KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
Thanks so much!!BigGrin

Angry Cursing I am having the exact same issues as all of you! This is ridiculous that an inferior product is being sold and support can't help with the issue. I love all the ideas of how to attempt to fix it and there is one on this thread that I will try tonight but I do not have the time to keep messing with it! Last night I spent two hours and NOTHING - My time is more valuable than that.

Mine will show connected and I will create in craft room, click cut, I can hear the machine start to cut and then LOST CONNECTION - seriously!!!!!! I cannot tell you how much vinyl I have wasted because the machine will not keep communicating with the computer.

I have done all the troubleshooting, ran the firmware updates and at this point I am ready to throw it out the window!!! This machine should come out of the box WORKING! I can cut directly from the machine but that is only good for easy projects.

Sorry - just had to vent because you all know exactly how I am feeling.

CRICUT I HOPE YOU MONITOR YOUR FORUMS AND CAN HELP ALL OF US WHO WANT TO USE YOUR PRODUCTS!
