Three or four years ago (maybe on the old MB) everyone was showing their LETTER cards. I loved looking at them.

I made a couple for my great nieces who graduated from high school a few years ago; I'm just showing them here because I want to give you a little idea of what can be done with them. My great nieces names were: Allison and Deanna

BUT, I THINK IT WOULD BE FUN TO USE LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET for Christmas Cards. ANY IDEAS?

I'm thinking Santa, Snowman, Snowflake, etc.! I'm hoping you'll come up with some more original ideas!?

Lovely cards Char. I haven't created any letter cards ever; now letter cards are on my to do list for 2014. I'm always looking for new ways to folds etc.

Thanks for sparking my creativityBigGrin.

AND NOW, I know exactly what I want to do with this!

I'm going to write out a whole word to set across my mantel in our living room.

Better than that.....two whole words!

M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S!

Including the decimal point!!

I can't wait to get started; but I'm not sure when that will be! LOL. I'm having a lot of fun embellishing these two words in my mind, though! LOL!

I am wanting to do a whole word also. But not merry Christams because I don't have room for that. Question for ya, will you make your 2 M's, 2 S's and 3 R's identical or ya gonna make each letter set all different? Inquiring minds wanna know Sneaky

Whoooooooooooooa! You're way ahead of me here......but, I'm glad, because I haven't had time to think about it just yet. I've been working on one of my PEACE AND JOY cards (yes, I'm still working on them.....I do about one thing a day)! I have several JOY cards to finish and some other cards I cut out two weeks ago. PLUS, I'm trying to do my glass block!! Oh, my.

BUT, now that you mention it.........I kind of like the idea of doing those 2 Ms, 2 Ss and 3 Rs IDENTICAL (2 twins and a triplet)! It might really make a nice balance with ALL those letters.

I wonder if I'll ever even start this? I REALLY WANT TO! I think it will look very cool on top of the mantel.

What do you have room for? Anyone else going to do this? SHOULD WE RACE? Wait a minute....I'll already be at a distinct disadvantage! That's okay......I'll race! Can anyone come up with something longer than MERRY CHRISTMAS, just to give me a chance?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year is longer...LOL Not sure about racing. I'm a slacker. So even though you are doing a ton of projects already, I'm sure you would beat me when I'm doing nothing right now.

Doing them the same would make designing a little easier for you, but then again...since you are super crafty...you might have too many ideas to limit yourself to the same desins for the same letters. Oh the decisions!!!

I've been thinking about the font or cart to use. I'm leaning towards the Varsity cart since it's nice big bold letters. But I will need to go searching alphabets I have before making a definite decision. What cart will you use?

Oh, IF I was creative enough or rather on the ball It would be totally cool to make the cards say MERRY CHRISTMAS and mail one out each day to my daughter and by the time she receives all 14 cards...She'd have a nice display for her mantel. She's the only one in my family who has a mantel.

One more question..what size are you thinking you will make the letters?

WOW, Joyce.....I am really Lovin' your ideas! That's so sweet; I might have to use your idea for our kids. OMG....that would mean for three households. Oh, I don't know.

BUT, I do love the idea.

I love the STORYBOOK cartridge and I really like the PEACH AND JOY font that PC used for our FREEBIE cuts. I don't know what they used; but, I'm sure there's one like it on Storybook.

ANY MORE GREAT IDEAS OUT THERE? Thanks so much for YOUR creativity!!

Oh...and, I think you're wrong about the "limiting" part on my crafting/creativity. It takes me daaaaaaaaaaaaaays to come up with anything!!

Carry on.............it's a RACE! LOL.

Don't you find that its just as easy to make 3 of everything as it is to make just one?? Coming up with the design is the hard part.

I will have to check Storybook...I have that cartridge too but never used it. Hummm....

I wish I could remember who it is that has all the fonts on their blog. That sure would make searching fonts easier.

Do you ever look for your images/fonts in CCR? Even if you don't use CCR (I think you do, though; I think you're one who LOVES CCR) with your CRICUT, you can still peruse it to look at all the images.

I really LOVE using CCR for that purpose!

For those who have never used CCR in that way...if you try it, be sure to BOOKMARK your cartridges you own. That way, when CCR is searching cartridges or images, the program does not have to wade through 300+ cartridges that PC has listed...it only goes through the cartridges you actually own to look things up for you.

When you're in the MY CARTRIDGES/ALL CARTRIDGES SCREEN, you can use the scroll bar over at the right to go further down that page to see all the options. Hope you're finding it.

When you click on BOOKMARKS, you can see EDIT or ADD at the bottom and that will take you into the whole library PC has and you hit the PLUS signs on all your cartridges you own.

It helps you know instantly (well, after you count them, how many cartridges you own. I think you can even print off a document that details those you own.

Now for an even more stupid question...Why would ya need or want to 'bookmark' a cartridge when they are already listed under MY CARTRIDGES? Seems kind of repetitive.

Or would 'bookmark' be for those who can't or won't link their cartridges??

Some of my carts were already under bookmarked. I wonder why cause I never even knew about 'bookmark'.

MY CARTRIDGES are only those that you buy digital, aren't they?

BOOKMARKS go further....all your cartridges that are NOT digital.

BOOKMARKS just allows the system to work faster; unless you own almost all of them, anyway. Then, it wouldn't matter that much.

Some of my carts were already under bookmarked. I wonder why cause I never even knew about 'bookmark'.

It's for those who don't own all the cartridges (and probably more useful for those of us who only own less than half of them). It is MERELY to allow the system to SEARCH your database instead of PC's WHOLE database when looking up something you want to work with in a project.

AS FOR ANOTHER QUESTION you asked umpteen posts ago.......I will probably do my MERRY CHRISTMAS five to six inches high.

I linked all my cartridges to CCR so all of those and any digital ones shows up in MY CARTRIDGES. So guess it's a way for those who don't link their carts to be able to see at a glance which carts they have in CCR. I was able to list a couple in bookmarks that I'm not able to link because they are already linked to some other account.

Yes, bookmarking is for those who don't want to link all their cartridges. I have only linked a few of mine; the others I have bookmarked.

Had I known that, I might not have linked all my carts. Oh well. Now they are linked and bookmarked :) LOL
