Hi Lydia!

Well, my tooth is not feeling any better. DH says I have to call the dentist tomorrow. I don't want to, I say as I stomp my fit and pout.

We puppy-sat this afternoon. Lincoln and Camry played very nicely together. And Nick barked.

Not muche else going on.

The fires burning in Idaho are AWFUL. I feel for those people who have had to evacuate their homes. They are, I would guess, maybe three hours away from us.

That Hannah Anderson kidnapping? They found her about 90 miles from us . Well, the main town is about 90 miles away. It is the town where our church camp is located.

Hi everyone;
We just got back from a lovely day at the lake. Took us a bit to find the place (the directions they gave us were perfect, we are just map challengedLOL!) It was a nice day even though a small rain shower came through but it didn't last for long. Crafty cousin-in-law & me headed into M's yesterday, she was excited to find an Inkydinkido stamp set. We tried it out when we got back and it was quite a bit of fun...might have to invest in a set,
trhttp://www.eksuccessbran...tangles_65-32046.htmied.

Joy: you had better get that tooth looked after before you go on your cruise. Troy did fine after his root canal, he stayed at his house this w/end.

Nancy: glad you are feeling better

Angie: congrats on your etsy store...hope it goes well for you and your mom

Lydia: hello and welcome back from Alberta, Canada

Sharon: hope you had a good time at your crop

JeanneLee: glad you dd & sil made it safely to their destination

Flo: hello from Alberta, Canada. Nice to meet you...jump in anytime. Hope you are able to find your way to the last page of the messages and can work your way back.

Better run, take care everyone. Taking mom for x-rays and an ultra sound tomorrow.

Flo and Lydia, nice to hear from both of you drop by anytime...

What I do is create a shortcut on my desktop so I can just click on it and it pops up and sign in. When we get to the next page I delete the one shortcut and start another shortcut. Now you don't have to search for our chat site.

Went to chiropractor early this morning and feeling pretty good.

Sandra.. I couldn't open that site you posted!! glad you had a nice day and time

Joy.. how much do you charge to puppy sit LOL my girl asks for 50.00 a day to dog sit!!

That is a shame with those fires hopefully they will get some heavy rains

Jeanne.. wow is it a year already since your DD got married??? Happy Anniv. to the happy couple

Cool and sunny here today hoping to play a little

Have a great day

Hi girls!

Last bike race of the season was yesterday...sort of sad, I LOVE bike race season. We are full into football right now, we had a week overlap--so no time to be bored!

Yesterday, my son placed fourth in his event. He was racing really well, but crashed in a 180 turn. He got up, dusted himself off and continued to race and placed 4th, despite his seat being on crooked at that point. He's a tough little guy!

Today, I have a meeting for our next year's bike race. We've met once, this is a "side meeting" with our charity recipient. The rest of my day will go by very quickly.

It sure is heating up here again. We had two weeks of really pleasant, cool weather. Not so much this week. Ugh...humid!

Nancy, that was a great tip about saving it to the Desktop! I sign in at the front Cricut page and have to go the the Community and click...three clicks?? I just did what you mentioned so much simpler! Glad today is a better day for you, too!

Hi Sonya, glad to hear your son is okay and just got back up on the bike...congrats on his 4th place win! We will have to compare football notes this year!

Sandra
, hope everything is okay with your mom?

Did I tell you I got hit by the *Project LIFE* bug! Cool
Bought Jade (whole kit from HSN) and Cinnamon..hope to get 2013 year started!

Hi all.

Sonya, congrats to your son! Great job to him!!!!!!

JeanneLee, I have looked at the project life stuff. It looks like it would be a great way to scrap!

I sign in at the home page because if I sign in here, I have to do an extra click to say NO to soomething every time I go read any post and try to get back.

Sandra, I could not open that link, either.

I have spent a couple of days taking in tops, and this morning I took a skirt way in. Some things I can do that with and make them look OK. My polo shirts, however, all hang. I keep putting them in the dryer hoping they will shrink! Oh well. Next spring I will invest in some new ones.

I made some journeling tags to take to Alaska in hopes I can write a bit on them every day and have them ready to stick in a scrapbook. I want to get a book in Alaska instead of make a whole one. I hope I can find a book I like!

Off to the doctor soon for DH's shoulder. Physical therapy has not helped it any. I am afraid he is facing surgery.

I have an appointment at 8 a.m. tomorrow for the dentist. Crying

Sandra - Hope Troy's mouth is doing ok!

Nancy - Are you feeling better? Hope so!!

Angie - Good luck with your Etsy store! That is so neat. Hope it goes well for you!

Joy - You better get the tooth fixed. You don't want to be miserable on your cruise. My dentist gave me a valium to take before I got there, and then did gas for me. I don't remember anything! It was great. On past cruises I have decorated our door. The first time I told my husband he wasn't so sure about it. BUT, now he asks me if I'm making something because it helps him find our room down those long corridors. I've had people in cabins around us tell me they liked it cuz it helped them too. Here's a picture of what I did on a past cruise. Not sure what I'm going to do for Alaska. Going to go to Zurcher's and look around later.

Shelly, love the door decorations! I have done that sometimes & always get positive comments on it! Once I decorated the door, but also left a post it note with attached pen on the door too. We got some nice comments that people wrote & posted to our door!

Today is my bingo night, so going there later.

Had to take one of my girls, Emily, to the orthodontist today as her expander was almost falling out. So the nurse was only available, so she took it out, but she has to go back tomorrow to get it fitted back in by the Dentist. So she is enjoying chewy/sticky things to eat today, while she has no expander in! lol

Crop on Saturday went well. One of my friends went with me & it was her birthday. So brought a cake along for her & sang happy birthday too. She liked that.

No news from either job yet. Going to Goddard school tomorrow morning for 1-2 hours to help in the preschool classroom & see how I do. Fingers crossed that goes well! It would be nice to get job offers from both of them & have a choice. Even though right now I am totally torn!

I like the one that is closer (Bright Horizons), it has much better benefits, but that place is not as nice as the other one. It is a bit smaller, carpet is older, seems a bit darker, staff wear jeans & open toe shoes (could be a good thing or a bad thing, but I personally like uniforms). Less vacation time too.

Other place (Goddard) is definitely big, clean, well kept. Staff wear a slight uniform (khaki pants or shorts with Goddard shirts) & closed toe shoes (sneakers are recommended she said). Good vacation times & slightly less hours (which is a good thing). But less benefits & further away.

Tough choices! But I do still hope I get offered both so I have a choice. Just torn!

BingoLady, how neat for your grandson!!!! Great picture. (Did you share your name and I missed that? My name is Joy. BigGrin )

We had something interesting happen at WalMart today. We were checking out, and all of a sudden the register said something about a gift card. I don't know why, but we got a $5 free gift card! Strange. It took the gal quite a while to get it all figured out, and then when we were walking out I was looking at the receipt, and we had not been charged for one item. So we went back to her line to pay for that item, and used the gift card! I think she was shocked that we went back to pay.

DH is scheduled for shoulder surgery on Sept. 26. Now, the dr just has to convince workman's comp to pay! I think they will agree as DH has done everything he can to avoid surgery, but nothing has worked. This injury goes back three years.

I think all we have done lately is go to health care appointments - dr, dentist, weight loss.

Hi everyone.

Nancy - So glad you are feeling better!

Jeannelee - I have watched the Project Life bits on HSN and thought they look interesting. I don't scrapbook, but this looks like an easy way to do it. Have fun with it!

BingoLady - Great picture of your grandson. How great that he has his black belt already.

Sonya - Congratulations to your son on the race. Great that he got up and continued even though he fell. Great job on still getting fourth place after that!!

Joy - Good luck at the dentist tomorrow! Hopefully it won't be too traumatic or painful! Sorry your DH has to get surgery! So great you are able to fix most of your clothes so you can wear them. I am working on still loosing some before the cruise, but its not looking good. I guess I will go to a secondhand store and get some levis and pants I can wear on the trip. When I get home it will be time to get serious about getting this weight off.

Went with my daughter Kristi today to get her son's next casts on. He sure didn't like it when they actually took the casts off. I guess it was a weird feeling. Got to have his first real bath after, before they put the new ones on. He seemed to like that. Then on the way home she got a flat tire. That was fun. Called for roadside assistance on her insurance and was told someone would be there in 30 mintues. Well, it was two hours before they came! Has to get all new tires because she has 4 wheel drive or something and needs a new tire. It was a screwdriver that went into her tire and through the other side. Not good news for her!

Lydia, I love the photo of your GS with Chuck Norris and his brother..very cool!
Congrats on his black belt and his wins.
I use to love watching Chuck's movies growing up in the 70s and 80s!

Joy, We are too young to be breaking down! Blushing Glad that your hubby is getting his surgery and it will be covered. My hubs needs surgery on his knee again(had a torn meniscus 2002 and had surgery)...the doctor doesn't like our medical ins(says they don't pay well) and told us to write a letter to them.(we did and haven't heard back yet) He said they won't cover having his knee done again. Its only been the past 5 years we have had issues with our insurance company.

Shelly
, I bet that little GS of your did enjoy that wee bath!! Sorry to hear about your DD's tire, almost sounds like vandalism.

Off to get DS up, he is still asleep...making up for all the sleep he lost this summer with his job and football practice! Laugh

Angry I had whole post almost typed, and hit the wrong button, and it got lost. Mad

DH and my dad just left for bighorn sheep hunting. I am SO GLAD that DH does not hunt, but this is truly once-in-a-lifetime thing for my dad, so DH is taking him. My BIL and nephew ( my nephew is 43!) took him over the weekend, but they had to come home and work. I really hope he gets one. They will be out in the middle of the desert with no cell service, so we won't hear from them until they drive in the driveway.

JeanneLee, I know what you mean about insurance. I get SO FRUSTRATED with my health being regulated by someone else. And it is so expensive. We have to pay for our own since DH retired.

Shelly, poor little GS. I never even thought about bathing him! And I am sure it did feel odd to him to have his casts off.

Hi Lydia! My brother lives in Phoenix.

Dentist said that it sometimes takes time for the root to decide it is going to heal or die. We hope it heals! The x-rays didn't show any change, and I do think MAYBE it felt a bit better this morning. He told me if by mid next week if it was worse, he would give me antibiotics to take on the trip.

Good afternoon everyone!

Cooler weather here today. It has been a very hot summer and last week we have had lots of fires, I think there were 10. Most are out now or at least contained. Unfortunately, with the cooler weather is thunderstorms which with lightening could mean more fires.

Joy - I hate when typing a post and it gets deleted. I have lately had a post appear twice. Don't know how that happens. Hope your dad gets a sheep. That would be great for him. I worry whenever my DH is out of phone range when he goes hiking. I worry something will happen and he won't be able to get help.

Sandra - Have you heard anything about the jobs yet. Crossing my fingers you get offers for both so you can decide which one you want.

Jeannelee - I hate insurance. They don't want to pay for anything, but they sure want to charge us for it! Hope you get it straightened out. Good luck!

DH & I got back from our walk and were standing talking to the neighbours when the UPS truck pulled up with my Artbooking cartBigGrin! Of course dh's response was "now what did you buy?". Spent most of the day today scrapbooking with my friends, holidays are winding down...another week and we are back to workMellow! By bank account says it's time to go backLOL!

Joy: hope the insurance comes through for your dh and your tooth heals before your cruise. Congrats on your Wal-Mart win!

Lydia: congrats to your gs.

Sharon: hope things went well at your job placement. Glad your crop went well. Good luck at bingo

JeanneLee: hope the ins. comes through for your dh's knee surgery.

Shelly: sounds like your little gs is doing ok with his casts, bet he enjoyed his bath though. Sorry to hear about your dd's tires, that's a big expense.

Sonya: congrats to your ds on his bike race.

Had mom for x-rays and an ultra sound yesterday for her upcoming surgeries. Next week it's another dr. appt., then I'm done with taking her for appts. for awhile (I hope).

Sorry you couldn't open the link I sent for the stamping gear. I bought my set yesterday at M's with a 40% off c/o and ordered another from Scrapbook.com for less. You can check them out at www.inkadinkado.com

Bye for now, take care everyone

Well I got one of the jobs I went for (at the Goddard School) & accepted the job offer! I will be an 'elite teacher' (means because of my job experience I get paid a bit more & help with lesson plans) & start Thursday Sept 5th!

I am still waiting to hear back from the other job at Bright Horizons, but will have to tell them I decline the position if they say I got the job.

Will be long hours at the Goddard school, but it is with preschoolers, my favorite age! Beautiful school with a fun curriculum, so I think I will enjoy it!

Tonight I am off to Atlantic City! Staying at Harrahs casino & going to see a concert with Straight No Chaser, with a friend! Should be fun!

If you haven't heard of Straight No Chaser, you should google them or look them up on YouTube. They are a group of 10 men (I think it is 10) who sing amazingly well, with no instruments, just their voices. Fun songs too to get the crowd going & they are funny too!

Joy sorry your tooth is still bothering you. Hope it gets better soon. I hope your dad get a sheep.

Nancy glad your feeling a bit better, relax and take it easy now.

Shelly I bet your GS enjoyed the bath. For about the first year Layla HATED and I mean HATED baths. So they were the worlds fastest baths. Now she loves them. Not sure what happened, but now loves them. Sorry about the tire, that stinks.

Sandra enjoy your new cartridge. Maybe someday I'll get that one, but not now.

Sonya congrats to your son, that's great he got back up and kept going.

Jeanne did you have to get up as well for football practice? It seems I have to get my kids up for everything I'm living for the day my kids can get themselves up. They will eventually get themselves up right?

So today not such a great day. I took the kids to the mall just to get out of the house. I usually take my Kindle fire with me to entertain the kids and use as a bribe to be good. Anyway, I forgot to lock the car and someone stole the Kindle. I'm so mad that someone would have the nerve to go in my car and take somethuing that dosen't belong to them. I'm even madder at myslef for not locking the car. I always lock the car. So I came home, and got on Amazon to see how to deactivate it. So I did that, even if they happen to find a power cord to fit it, (the battery was dead) get it all charged up, the still won't be able to use it. It can't be reregistered. Grrrrrrr! I'm so stupid. The good news is when I buy another Kindle, as soon as I register it to my acount all my stuff I've purchased previous will go on it. Now I just have to save up to replace it and wait for someone to come from the U.S. to bring it for me. Jamal is going to Washington D.C. the end of November. I guess I can get it then. I'm so mad!

Sharon, congratulations on your job!!!!!!!!!

Nancy, ALL of the hunting my dad has done has been for the meat (I think all I ever ate growing up was wild game - and we raised Black Angus cattle at the time!) and the LOVE of hunting. BUT, bighorn sheep hunting is just for the hunt. Most people bring the head/horns home and have them mounted.

Angie, that just stinks about your Kindle. Last summer DH left his tablet at McDonalds. He realized it about 10 minutes later and went back, but it was gone. It had a lock code, so highly likely, the person who took it was never able to use it.

Sandra, have been able to use Artbooking today???? Can't wait to see what you make!

I really have not gotten much done today. I did get a skirt taken up. And I was starting to hem a bridesmaids dress for the daughter of the lady who made the wedding cakes for the girls when Megan came home at lunch and Lincoln has been here every since. He is a BUSY little puppy. And I think his bladder holds about a teaspoon!

A little over a week, and cruise ship, here we come!!!! I am sure my friend that is going with us is all packed. I will start maybe next Wednesday. Laugh

pretty quiet day here today. Took my friend to pick up her car at the repair shop, paid some bills and had coffee with an old neighbour. Then came home and played with my new cart for a bit. Right now I'm cutting out an overlay, so far so good.

Joy: hope you get the dress hemmed ok. Hope you start packing before next Wed., lol!

Sharon: glad you got your job, what hours do you work again? Have fun at the concert

Nancy: glad you had a nice lunch

Angie: sorry to hear about your Kindle. I don't understand why people think they are entitled to just take other people's stuff.

Hi to everyone else, hope you have a great day.

Sandra, how is Artbooking? Someday, I will use mine! LOL I want to get the little notebook page cut and stamped to take along to journal on while we are gone.

I think I am down to the last shirt in the pile to alter. I saved it for last because I am not sure I can get it to fit properly. I did get the dress hemmed, finally, after Lincoln went home. There was no way I could spread the dress out on the floor and trim off the bottom with him around!

Nancy - Glad you are feeling better! I love seafood, glad you were able to go there and have a nice lunch.

Sharon - CONGRATULATIONS on the job! How soon do you start?

Sandra - Please show us what you make with the Artbooking cart. I am trying to decide if I want to get it or not.

Lydia - Hello! How are you doing?

Angie - I am so sorry about your Kindle! That just stinks! Good to know you can disable it though so that the jerk who took it can't use it!!! Hope you are able to replace yours soon.

Joy - Hope your dad gets a sheep, and soon so he and your DH can come home. Glad you were able to get your sewing project done. Hope you can alter your blouse to work for you.

I leave a week from today for our cruise. Need to start gathering my clothes to take. Have an envelope album I would like to make for the cruise. I have all the stuff to make it, just need to get working on it. Also, going to embroider a shirt from my husband to wear. Made him one last year, but it is too small, so going to make another one.

Here is what I have done so far to decorate our cabin door on the ship. I have some big pine cones and pine trees to go around it. Don't have any good carts for these. May just have to go buy Campin Critters to make some animals. Will see if I have time.

Sorry, it doesn't want to let me post the picture. I will take a picture with my camera tomorrow and try and post it again. Doesn't like the one I took with my new phone.

Shelly, look forward to seeing your pics later!

Concert with Straight No Chaser was totally awesome. They are a great group of guys & just sing amazingly well!

I start my job on Thursday September 5th & I will be working 36-39 hours a week. My daily hours will vary though. Some days long shifts, some shorter shifts, some early shifts (starting at 6.30am), some later shifts (finishing at 6.30pm). Going to be different each week, so will be tough at first & I am sure I will be tired by the weekend. lol But looking forward to it, preschoolers are so much fun!
