If there is enough interest I have an idea for the July Maggie swap.
I want us to alter a 6 pack just the kind you get beer or soda in so
it should be cheap enough for the base. I want it embellished somewhat
on all sides and the handle. There should be at least one Maggie image somewhere on it.
The inside of the carrier can be left plain if you like.
Along with the 6 pack you are to send your partner an item off her wish list.
It can be a Maggie stamp or anything you want but it should be about $12 to $15
in price ( not including shipping) I won't allow any people who are currently
on the flaker list to join. These 6 packs are handy for storing taller cans,
gesso, mod podge, spray paint etc. I hope to see some real creativity with these.
If you don't
embellish heavily on the folds then I think you can flatten them and put them
in a padded envie for shipping. Each person should post their dc# here and try to
check in weekly please. Aso be sure to post pics of your 6 packs as you receive them.
If someone new doesn't have Maggie stamps to decorate their six pack
with I can send you a few stamped images for you to color and use on your project.
Just pm me if you need some plz. Posting a pic of the type of 6 pack carrier I mean
Also please pm me with your home addy and either your phone # or your email addy when you sign up.
Thanks!

Mail date will be July 28th

So who wants to play?

OK, Kathy -- Sorry I am so late getting here. I have had so much trouble getting my posts to work the last 2 days. I think I am going nuts. You would think I didn't know how to post a note or something. It is so frustrating. Anyway, I love this idea. I am in for sure. If it is just you and me again so be it. We'll do it again. But don't cancel it.

Now, let's see:

My wish list:
1 #224 Lazy Summer day Tilda
2 #244 Burger Tilda
3 #110 Edwin in Miami
4 #267 Tilda of Sweden
5 #419 Little Miss Muu Muu

Theme/colors
beach theme: /browns/teal/light brown/peach

Let the Maggie designs begin! LOL

HI Kathy ! I will try this one.....first I have to find someone who can steal me a 6 pack carrier...ha ha !! Also - the only Tilda I have is the Nurse Tilda. I love using her, but if my partner wants something different I may need to beg for an image or 2.

I can certainly use the storage carrier...good idea !! LoveBarb

i think you have my addy but will send if you need it.

Yes please resend it to me Barb, and everyone.
Remember to post 5 wishes between 12-$15 and styles preferences.
You only need to buy them one and include it in your
6 pack. I can send you some stamped Maggies too if you
let me know asap. Not sure when I will have to return to Ia city.
Sunday is our 34th anniversary so I should probably try to go up that
day at least.
So glad to have to join us!
I think I will close this on Monday and then post partners.

So my biggest challenge for me is how to handle the altering of the surface of the six pack. Modge podge or painting it seems to be what I am thinking right now, as a base to work off of. Any other suggestions anyone?

I will make those rootbeer floats for anyone who wants one, but be forewarned, I have not figured out a way to remove all of those calories to date.

I am sooooo sorry Barb. I thought I had posted my wishes here when I posted partners.
I went to check the June thread and it turns out I just altered
them thereBlushing Blushing But they are here now above.BigGrin
I would like some more wishes from you, several of yours are way over
the $15 limit and seem to be hard to find as well. Maybe you could chose
a Maggie stamp you like? Or something easier to find? So far after two craft
stores I only found one of your small wishes.
I brought dh home this afternoon, hope he will eat and drink enough to keep him
out of the hospital. He had 2 dif kinds of infections in his gut, one bacterial and
the other viral and was way low on his salt too. Lord, make this man eat right, please!
Regarding the vintage soda jerk pics, I think the one in the middle looks cutest.Flapper

Awe shoot Barb, I already figured out your gifts.
Maybe if you play next month I can get you a Maggie,
if I have time to hostess again.LOL

I liked Opie allot better as a kid than I did as an adult

In fact I liked most of the TV shows better back then too.
I found a template for a 6 pack and some interesting images here,
tjo not sure it would be strong enough to hold much unless it was done
with cardboard or chipboard.

with cardboard or chipboard.
