Frustrated!!!! I have installed and uninstalled the CCR and each time I still get the same response: Initializing Cricut Craft Room. I have Windows 8, so I don't know I that's the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Just read another post and Windows 8 is not compatible!! You would think with the expense of the carts & accessories they could keep up with technology. I can't use Rewards or CCR on my Windows 8. Edited by user Saturday, February 23, 2013 5:53:23 PM(UTC)

Yes, you can still use it. I've read alot about this - and if you go to the drop down menu choose the run in compatibility mode of windows 7. I'm not explaining it throughly - but Narelle or Scrapalette that are on this board all the time can give you the step by step directions. All is not lost. CCR will work! you just have to fiddle with your computer settings. You also might have to add "exceptions" so your anti virus program won't block it. If the above mentioned ladies don't respond, then call Cricut customer service on monday. They will get you up and running. I agree about ProvoCraft not keeping up with technology though. I have an Android phone and tablet and I can't even log onto the message board. Ridiculous. ***** I don't know about the rewards though ****** Edited by user Saturday, February 23, 2013 6:24:39 PM(UTC)

Well, it did not work, so I guess a call to support is necessary.
Thanks for trying.

Thanks for trying. Right click on the CCR icon on your desktop Select Properties Select the Compatibility Tab Make the following changes: As sewnmachine mentioned you may also have to add cricutcraftroom.exe and ccrbridge.exe as exceptions/exclusions to your anti-virus program.
