Ok, so I've finally decided that I want to try out the Craft Room. I have an original cricut - it's probably 6 years old or so by now. Looking at the machine I can't figure out how I would connect it to my computer. There is no USB port. Am I basically out of luck? I saw a post that said carts can't be linked to the original in the CCR, but it can still be used to make cuts from the CCR -- but how?? Am I missing something?? Please help!!! I'm usually fairly computer savvy, but this has me stumped! Thanks

Hi...I didn't stop to look up the technical terms, but just use a regular printer cable...the smaller connector goes into the back of the cricut beside the power port, and the USB end goes into your computer... I'm sure there are pics on youtube, blogs etc. if you are still stumped...

it will also have to do with whether or not you have updated it lately. i've had mine since 06 and i had never updated it. i had to call pc and they sent me instructions fro updating it thru design studio. i don't have design studio, but she gave me all the directions then it worked perfectly.
