Wow! What a fun time I had! I swam with Stingrays & snorkled in the Coral reefs in Grand Caymen Isl.. Went to the Mayan Ruins in Cozumel Mexico....... Shopped till I dropped LOL & got very sun-burned, I'm peeling like a snake! 17 days went by too fast, the cruise was just 5 days but spent the rest of the time in Tampa area.
It's nice to be home though. Now, if all the snow would melt I'd be on cloud 9.

I never did buy that particular cart. {extreme fonts} I only played with it in CCR when it was a freebie. Also, your pm box is full. Thanks for your help. Janis

And I had the same conversation with our maid (I know they had a much more glamorous title than that but I can't remember what it was) but I didn't volunteer to work. I just asked her to hide me in her trolley!

Originally Posted by: LoveMyBeagleman Glad you had a great time. I'm going on my first one in May. Any tips for a first timer? I'm excited and nervous. Oh how fun & so nice to have something to look forward to. Nothing to be nervous about, the crew on these ships are awesome! From the room porters to the cruise director they are great! Well, I did get some good tips from some girls here on this forum....I also went to Cruisecritic.com & read a lot of tips there as well. Very informative. I didn't book my excursions from the ship, & noticed some of the excursions were full when I got off the ship. I was fine with that though, because I wasn't real sure if I wanted to go off on my own or hire a private guide etc. Both in Grand Caymen Isl. & Mexico I had plenty to do & went on excursions in both places. Ohhh if you go to Mexico make sure to buy some 100% vanilla! I bought a huge 33.9 oz. bottle for $9.00, here it would have cost at least $30.00 or more. Matter of fact I would have liked more time to lolly gag & shop more, some excursions can take 3 to 6 hours+.. {although I would have never fit more in my suitcase LOL}. As it is my friends who stay in Fl. for the winter have to bring some of my loot home in May for me. :) Where are you going? That might help...

There is usually only one plug-in, sometimes two, in a room. We usually take two. I can plug in my curling iron, hair straightener, blower dryer, and still have space to keep everything charged (Nook, Kindle, camera batteries, etc.) Also, we have started taking a small battery candle to leave on in the bathroom at night. That way, if you need to get up, you can still see but not have a blinding light.

As for a cheap souvenir, you might consider buying a dollar bill from a store in Mexico. I bought a bottle of water from a store on Grand caymen Island & got their coin change back, so I kept that. I forgot to do this in Mexico, but I'm sure I will get there again someday....Right now am trying to talk hubby into a cruise in the future LOL. He's going for it too! My DH is retired coastie so he's had his share of ships in the past.

A cruise! oooh how fun! Glad you had a good time. We're going on our first cruise in August - 6 days on the Carnival Breeze. I'm so excited, I'm actually more than a little obsessed. I pretty much haunt cruisecritic.com and the cruiseline FB pages. If PC still did scrapbook cruises I would be very tempted to book one.

Cruises are great. The only bad part is when you get home and reality sets in that you have to make your own dinner. Another tip besides the power strip is to take one of those over the door shoe organizers and hang it on the outside of the bathroom door. You can put your sunscreen, medicines and other toletries in the pockets. There is no counter space in the bathrooms. Lisa Edited by user Monday, March 11, 2013 12:40:00 PM(UTC)
