I just recently bought a new laptop with windows 8 and tried to download the craft room and for some reason all that comes up is that its "initializing". I was wondering if it will work with windows 8 and if anyone else has had a problem with it. and just wondering if the design studio would work? Thank you for your time and help

Thank you for your time and help Hello almighty_j20038c9fcc2f, In order to use the Cricut Craft Room® design software on Windows® 8 you will want to follow the steps below. (1) Download and install the software from www.cricut.com/craftroom(2) When installation is complete, a Cricut Craft Room® icon should appear on your desktop. a. If Cricut Craft Room® automatically opened after installation, please close it. (3) Right click on the icon and click “Properties” to open the Properties window. (4) Click to view the “Compatibility” tab. (5) Within the “Compatibility” tab, check the box next to ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:”. Make sure the drop down menu just below shows “Windows 7”. (6) Click OK If you are still unable to get the Craft Room to work with your Windows 8 computer we would like to recommend contacting Customer Support at 1-877-7CRICUT where one of our representatives will be happy to assist you further. -Cricut Dani
