Help please! I just logged in after a year or so and see the craft room software. I have Design Studio so should I download Craft Room and uninstall Design Studio. I'm assuming Craft Room is the "New" Design Studio?? Thanks for any help.

CCR is an online program so you will need to be connected to the Internet at all times to use it. With DS, no Internet connection is required. CCR works with all the Cricuts. DS doesn't work with the E2, Imagine or the Mini. Download CCR and have a play. CCR is my go to design program now, but I still use DS on occasion.

thank you. I am old school and just have the original and the Expression and I don't plan to upgrade, these have barely been used. Is CCR the same regardling I can only cut with the carts I own? I haven't downloaded it yet, but what I have read it seems as if I can buy images if I don't own the cart and somehow download it and cut it?? Is that true?

I prefer DS over the CCR! It is a much more reliable program than CCR!

Oh! & you don't have to have internet connection to use DS! When you go to crops, you usually don't have internet connection!

Good point about the internet connection. I thought seeing as I don't have any newer cartridges; I can buy certain images to use for CCR.......That's if I've read things correctly. LOL

All the crops I go to have wifi! I love CCR. It has features DS doesn't and is so much easier to use. Plus, you can link your carts through CCR to your cricut.com account and then you don't have to have the cart with you to cut from it.
You can purchase images and use them in CCR.
Check out Narelle's CCR blog for some great CCR tutorials!
