Still can't use to full capacity
I received my Gypsy the weekend before Thanksgiving and still don't have it synced. Phone calls for technical have taken as long as 97 minutes to 42 minutes. When I finally spoke to someone after the 42 minute wait, I was told there was a problem on Provo's end of the software and that such problems were usually resolved in just a few days and to keep trying. I suggested adding some message to that effect to the website but never saw anything so I keep trying. I keep installing the software, but when I tried to link a cartridge, I keep getting the message that I need to update my Gypsy. So far, I have only been able to link 4 of my cartridges. I've really been looking forward to taking my Gypsy on a long car trip at Christmas but that's beginning to look doubtful. I still have hope but for now I'm a little frustrated.

Would have 5 stars if I could actually get it updated!
Got mine yesterday for Christmas! Have been trying to update it for over 24 hours. It is stuck on the Cricut Imagine update and won't do anything else or finish. Hopefully it will work soon since I watched the A-Z Gypsy video and am really excited to start playing with my new Toy if it ever updates.

I got my Gypsy for Christmas and have been able to load half of my cartridges. When trying to load the others I get a message that I need to update the Gypsy. I've done that twice already but still get the same message. Also, my battery will not charge. I've had it plugged in for 6 hours so far and no charge. Can't design anywhere if the battery won't work. I've seen others use these successfully so I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED that mine won't work properly.

I received my gypsy for Christmas and have spent the last 2 days trying to sync/update/charge/ and basically just get it to work.
I thought the problem was on my end, until I read the 2 most recent reviews and see that the issues I'm having are not unusual.
I really hope that Provocraft fixes this bug sooner rather than later...

I got my long awaited Gypsy for Christmas. Unfortunately, after charging for 6 hours, the screen would not work. The blue light comes on, but nothing on the screen. I contacted the store where the product was bought and they referred me to Cricut. I have tried contacting Cricut a few times, but hung up after 30 minutes of waiting on the line. After searching the web, it seems like the problem I have is common. At this point I think I am just going to get a refund.

NEVER BUY THIS!! I got the gypsy for christmas and it didnt work so I spent an hour on the phone and they said that they would send me another one... I waited for a moth and it never came so I called again. The order had not gone through so they shipped me another one! It came in yesterday... it doesnt work! I am so angry with Provocraft! I dont even want to try again for the third time! I give up!

I was so happy to finally get my Gypsy. I have had it for over 2 years now. Could not get it uploaded. Spent HOURS on the phone trying to get it to work. I was told it was software problem, then told it was my virus protection program. My computer keeps questioning why I want to download anything from Provocraft. It does not trust it. Scary!! I have old laptop took of virus program then was able to Sync that was 2 years ago. Tried again but can not repeat my previous success. Someone (not Provo) suggested computer cord might be bad. Bought new one still won't work. I admit I never called back. There is so much I want to do in retirement. Being on the phone for hours to get a piece of crap to work just isn't one of them. I see people use them all the time & love them but I wonder if they are in the minority. Now I am afraid to buy anything else from them. Maybe it will work maybe not. It is a gamble.

Provo sync fried my Gypsy
Have updated a # of times B4, but yesterday while my Gypsy was working fine, I stupidly hooked up to update and was rewarded with a fried and totally useless unit. Any attempts to reformat it via support's instructions proved futile.Clearly this is an issue Provo is aware of, but it's cheaper to replace those under warranty and tell the rest of us to buy a new unit, send it to them with the old one so the new one can be reserialized and returned to you to have you relink your cartridges. Crummy choices.I'm probably thru w/any new Cricut purchases, as their 1-year warranty is far too short, and my unit was destroyed thru no fault of mine. When I ?d support as to wouldn't it be smarter IF I buy another unit to NOT update, she begrudgingly agreed, so you know something's up.

Looking at the latest Gypsy reviews would have certainly deterred me from purchasing one of my own. Luckily for me, I didn't. Especially since it's been about a week since I received my Gypsy. And can I just say that I absolutely positively LOVE it? My Gypsy is AWESOME! Granted, like other Cricut products, updating is frustrating to say the least. Especially since it often takes so many hours, sometimes days, to get Cricut products to update. Yes, it's a daunting process that will bring one to tears, but once you get it to work the functionality and freedom to create is great! All in all as a newbie to the crafting world, I would highly recommend having a Gypsy to enhance your Cricut experience. A Gypsy is a "must have".

gypsy changed my view
I have had my gypsy for over a year and totally loved it. I teach with it so others can enjoy theirs as much as I do. I have told everyone that I have seen provo craft take care of many problems quickly. But this one is making me think differently. I downloaded the last time and since my gypsy has been wrong. It would work then not then work then not, all in one day. Now it only shows a black screen. I called them and they said to hard reset it and emailed me the instructions. Doesnt work. I feel the the last download screwed it up and since they are not responding in their usual great manner on this one I think it is a real problem for them. I have a business and I use my gypsy all the time. I cant seem to find any gypsy to be bought anywhere. Not even on their site to replace mine. Something is up. Maybe if enough of us called better business bureau then something will come of this issue. I miss my gypsy....

Not a happy customer
After almost 2 years of using the gypsy, it finally stopped working. All that would light up was the blue light, with a black screen. The hard reboot would not work. I followed their advice and bought a new one at ACMoore and mailed back both the bad and new gypsy. I was a little reluctant to do this as there is no guarantee that I'll ever see it again. They did give me a $50 credit. I really like the gypsy when it is working of course, so I am hopeful that my new one will be returned and work for several years.

Love my Gypsy but
My son gave me a gypsy for Christmas and I really enjoyed the time I had it. I had problems loading cartridges, had to call, e-mails etc and finally they will send me other cartridges. Then one day will not start. After more calls and e-mails, they told me I have to buy another one and send it so they can reload my cartridges. As much as I love my Gypsy I am dissatisfied with the product. Can Provocraft do something for us their faithful consumers? I have been looking for another Gypsy but every time I read a review I stop looking.

I purchased my Gypsy just over a year ago and now it does not work because the pin for the charging cord has fallen inside it. Provocraft can do nothing for me and they also do not have any in stock nor do they know when they will have them. I also cannot buy another anywhere which leads me to believe they have stopped making them due to all the issues everyone is having.

This worked out of the box, BUT WHEN I WAS FORCED TO UPDATE VIA CRICUT.COM IT DIED. ProvoCraft admits there's a problem, but don't know what it is. The thing is now a PAPER WEIGHT. Where's the class action LAWSUIT??

Bad Product with Bad Customer Service
Ever since I get my Gypsy, I have nothing but issue with it. First the charger doesn't fit. That took forever for me to talk to customer service. Every time I call I'll be on hold for hours before I get someone and they can't help me. I tried to e-mail customer service and didn't get a respond for weeks. After months of trying, I finally got a replacement for the charger. But now, I can't link all of my cardriges and when I tried to update it with sync, I would get an error. At first, I thought the problem was on my end, but now after reading all of the reviews, I don't think it is. This product takes forever to turn on and sometimes the screen just go blank for no reasons. Now I can't even link all of my cartriges as intended when I made my purchase for this piece of crap. What a waste of money.

Can't unlink cartridges ...can't sell if you don't like it...once registered ownership can't be transferred ....you are stuck with it if you don't like it...waste of money...

I bought my gypsy almost 2 years ago now. It sits in the box it came in on my shelf when not in use. I only use it about every few months or so. After trying to turn it on today and it not working I called customer support. They were not able to help me reset it due to the reset it's self not working when tried. I was told I need to hang onto it so if I buy another one I will mail the new one and the old on in so they can link them to get my cartridges off my old one and onto my new one. Another thing I can link it to thier web sight if that would be easier form me. Well I'm not going to buy a new gypsy ever and I'll never link my old one to the websight since I got the gypsy to travel with. I'm very unhappy they don't have somewhere to send them if they break to be repaired. I will say this was a huge let down. The lady I spoke was very nice and It's ot her fault but this just plain sinks.

I haven't been consistent in using my Gypsy, I couldn't get it turn on and after talking with a representatiave, she said it is not working for lack of use. I have to purchase a new one.

Called today to find out why my Gypsy wouldn't turn on. I learned that it is just what they do. They don't turn on & it can't be fixed. So I am out the cost of a Gypsy....tough luck. Now I know why people say they would never buy a Provo Craft item. Word is they are poor quality & they don't stand behind their products. Guess it is true.

LOVE MY GYPSY
The Gypsy is the best of the Provo Craft inventions! I can't imagine being without it. However, I am having problems with mine and need to replace it but they are out of stock. Hope the supply is replenished soon.

Love my Gypsy
I love my Gypsy! I'm hoping if enough people share their love of the Gypsy, Provo Craft will again make these available for purchase. I love being able to be anywhere and still be able to design.
